Fast Sync
So anyone probably knows that the launch of BL messed up the performance of the game completely for many people, regardless of their hardware, but I noticed that it also stopped the ability to use fast sync in the game.

I set it in the Nvidia control panel, but get extreme tearing. Gsync never worked with the game for some reason, although Nvidia tells me it's "activated" (it does not work in many games actually), but the fact that I have to use Vsync to not get tearing is laughable.

Anyone knows a fix for that or do we just have to live with the hellish input lag?

Are you using vsync in destiny's settings or on the Nvidia control panel? I got it working over here, what I do is have vsync off both in-game and in Nvidia Control Panel, then I use the game's own frame limiter (since it doesn't always play nice with external ones ) and I cap it at 138 frames (my monitor goes up to 144hz). If you don't mind, post some pictures of your settings in both and I'll see if I can help.

But would that not produce tearing? I just want to get either fastsync or gsync to work, but my settings don't matter.
I now have vsync on in the control panel. That works and ofc the ingame vsync works too, but fastsync in control panel doesn't work anymore for some reason. Gsync is also turned on and framerate limiter ingame is set to 144 with ingame vsync turned off. No tearing, but input lag.

At least in my case, if the Hz is high enough, I can't see any tearing.

Worst case scenario, try doing a clean install of the gpu drivers if you haven't done that in a while, that has solved tearing for me in the past.

If you decide to do a clean install, you might wanna backup your Nvidia control panel settings by making copies of nvdrsdb0.bin and nvdrsdb1.bin before you select the option to clean your settings and then restore nvdrsdb0.bin and nvdrsdb1.bin after the installation is complete.

I hope this helps.

Alright. Maybe you play in borderless windowed? That should get rid of the tearing, but for me it introduces micro stutter ._.
I usually uninstall my gpu drivers first with DDU and then do a fresh install of the new drivers. Appreciate the help though^^

Nah man, I run fullscreen. Are you by any chance using multiple monitors at different refresh rates? That can sometimes introduce stutter in games.

Nope. Kinda frustrating. I notice my gfx card has a lot of coil whine though since beyond light in some weird areas like in the character screen and in the orbit, although my framerate is not going over 144. Normally it whines at like 300fps, but D2 is kind of special I guess

Just for the sake of science, try capping at 138fps to give it a few frames of buffer and see if that stops the stutter. Also, have a look at Battle(non)sense on youtube, that dude really explains what causes stutter/lag/tearing and possible solutions.

Yeah this is a good call but also if you have the option to drop to 60hz and dont mind playing at 60fps i have found.... (on my desktop rig anyway) there is no input lag. For me this has worked for all games. If you only have the option of 144hz then capping 138 is the best option. My 144hz laptop does it automatically in some games.

No, capping at 60 is no bueno for me. I can't even stand 60hz while browsing the internet and my pc is not at fault here. My CPU is sleeping in the game with mostly 20% usage, some cores not being used at all and my GPU also never hits over 90% regardless of settings.
I guess I'll have to just use vsync at this point. I tried everything and nothing works :steamsalty:

Gsync can have tearing even when all requirements are given. Keep in mind, whenever you exceed your refresh rate, gsync gets deactivated. The only way to eliminate all tearing is to enable Vsync in the "Nvidia Pannel" and gsycn on (Vsync off in Game itself). Then, go to your game and limit the fps at 57 (for 60hz) and 141 (for 144hz). Doing so, vsync doesn't slow down at all and gsync works like a charm.

TL;DR:
1. Enable Vsync in the Nvidia Pannel
2. Set Gsync on
3. FPS Limit in Games if possible to 57 fps (60hz) or 141 (144hz)
4. Set Vsync off in Game itself.

There is no other way, unfortunatelly, even if you say "no option for you"; well, it is not about the options you want, but about the options the hardware is giving you.

PS: There might be a way, to activate your cores though. ;)
Go to Task Manager and then to the Destin2.exe. Go to properties of that and then to affinity -> then disable two cores (if more than 2 of course), while in game, and then enable them again. This will innitiate a restribution of the load and might help a bit.

Yeah that's what I am doing rn. My main problem is the input lag of vsync and fastsync not working anymore for seemingly no reason whatsoever.
