Will Bungie bring back past Planets (Titan, Io,Mercury, Mars)
The main reason they got rid of these planets, was due to server space, or over loading their servers. So when will Bungie just grow their company bigger, to sustain Destiny 2?

They should just make Destiny 2 like ESO in my opinion, its just a fact tho really.

They got rid of that stuff for a lot of reasons. Mostly I suspect, because it was old code.

Their plan is to cycle content on a roughly annual basis (basically, each time they release a new Expansion). Some older content will be "vaulted", some entirely new content will be added, and some older, refurbished content may, or may not be re-introduced.

I suspect that Mars, Mercury, Titan, and Io may EVENTUALLY come back, but when they do, I suspect they'll have entirely new quests (and they probably won't all come back at once).

Well first off they weren't deleted because of server space, but rather the game was so large that it was difficult to make changes. Sadly, we have no idea when (or even if) this content will come back.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

They will bring back other planets to replace those missing, 2 for sure in the next 1-2years, with witchqueen and the other named expansion.

I'd really want Titan back. Though having any of them back and overhauled in some way with new things to experience would be great too.

I too miss Titan. Frankly, up until Season of Arrivals (when I was trying to do as much stuff as I could on the zones that were going away), I really had no idea how big Titan was, or how much stuff was actually hidden there. There were 3 or 4 lost sectors I'd never even seen.

I miss Mars too. I liked Escalation Protocol. It was just there. You'd go to Mars, planning on doing a few bounties, and lots of times, there'd be an EP running that you could just join.

The Blind Well is supposed to be the same kind of event, but ... it just doesn't have the same feel as EP did.

Io was pretty, but always felt a bit under-utilized to me.

Mercury was too small. Infinite Forest notwithstanding.

I hope they never bring back Mercury.

Yeah Mars and Titan should have stayed, I miss Mars the most though.. lol Im now on Moon Sorrows harbor the most, Cosmodrome Skywatch is kinda ok, but it just isn't it compared to Mars..
I miss too Titan and Mars and I hope when they become brought back why not bring with them some dungeons to those empty large areas like on New Pacific Arcology because c'mon that area was so cool and only left to have a dungeon for it like there was on European dead zone.

Mercury background have a lot as well. Dungeon activties aren't so bad and they certainly do make this game fun even to solo players.
About IO only enjoyed the soundtrack.

Mercury was a missed opportunity. I always thought they should've had the past and future timelines have their own patrol zones with the Infinite Forest there to connect them. Hell, they could've literally reskinned the main Mercury zone with some minor changes for the different timelines and different enemies (Hive in the past, Fallen in the future, just like the adventures). Hopefully if they bring Mercury back it will be better utilized.

Titan, Mercury, Io weren't my favorite Destinations, bad strikes, with terrible loot. Mars was/is probably one of my favorite Destiny 2 locations, I like the Cosmodrome and all, but Mars had the good sh*t.

I would have loved to have had a chance to explore more of "Golden Age" Mercury, I really liked the little glimpses that came during the strikes. There was all kinds of cool looking stuff that you got to see, ever so briefly, during strikes that just wasn't there, it was really disappointing.

The whole environment offered some really cool sets that just never got used during the regular visits. It would have been fun fighting down and through those deep canals, and then back up on the top. Lots of potential variation and 3D zones.

But .. instead we got a little tiny circle around the Light House.

Payed for half that crap they damn well better

In the lore the planets aren't actually gone, just consumed by the Darkness. So if they do bring them back I imagine they'll come with some new content that will ask us to retake those worlds. Otherwise, depending on the events of Witch Queen and Lightfall, we might be going to an entirely new system.
