From my understanding from all being so far by everyone in this thread:
Some extremely rare devices/bulltes used for Plot Points may kill a Ghost.
But not even Zavala, cause he have a plot armor?
Or the Cabal just wanted to shot Zavala with a supressor from light, but the Assassin was that dumb to use it on the Ghost? If that's the case was not explained well.
Or Targe was dying, but THE CROW have magic hands turning broken things to fixed. I don't know.
I will just watch those cutscenes liek a cheap TV show and don't question motivations and logic.
So to recap this - pretty few things can kill a ghost. The Scorn Rifleman had this so was the Hive that killed Sagira.
Cabal does not have this, they cannot kill a ghost but they can supress a ghost. With this being said they don't have any other option to dissable Zavala. So, we assume that Crow worked on resolution to counter this technology and Ciatl stopped the assissination. I guess all that being recpaed make sense now.
My personal belief is that ghosts require direct damage to their core to be destroyed by non-paracausal weaponry, while paracausal methods that drain a ghost's light should kill them regardless.
