Traverse the chasm
is there a special jumping technique to this, im having probs with the very first jump to the white door platform, im not sure which jumping ability to use for this, ive watched some videos on the quest but they never really explained which ability to choose for that. Im not quite able to reach the top door platform. Is there a special armor for jumping higher, ive tried the 3 diff jumping abilities, either its too high with a short jump, low height and strong direction, or just a long direction....all seem to fall just short of making it. Ive watched the videos and this quest has alot of difficult jumps, im kind of thinking just to omit this quest and move on for now maybe getting better as time goes on and go back to it.

Which quest is this? do you have a screenshot or something of the bit youre referring to?

It is part of Risk/Reward, the exotic quest at the end of the New Light starter campaign.

Are you using a Warlock? If you want to gain the most height and glide a little further, tap the space bar twice in quick succession. Don't wait for yourself to reach the top of the jump (like how you'd use a Hunter's double jump or a Titan's jets), boost the moment your feet leave the floor. That will gain the most height to hopefully reach the platform.
if you need help completing this quest hit me up

using a titan at this time....rank 6. Traverse starts at 3:50, i count him hitting the spacebar 3 times, whereas mine only does 2 on the first jump, starts in the cosmodrone. It looks like hes using a hunter...

Yes, that is a hunter. All three classes have different jumps, Hunter has double/triple jumps, Titans are more like jetpacks, and warlocks are floaty space magic. Each behave differently, but obviously all of them can do any given jumping section in the game, you just have to learn how your jump works. Even any variant of the jump should be able to beat any given section, it just may be easier or harder in certain situations. I set all my jumps to what felt the best to use and haven't had to touch them once in all the years since.

Found a video of a titan doing the puzzle, you can find the part you are stuck on. Most likely you are just missing a platform you are supposed to jump to.

You stopped sprinting mid jump thats why you didn't make it lmao

This quest i have from start, so it must be simple enough for new player.
One guy said in comments on youtube "Game Quitting Level" and it is absolutely true.

Sorry, it's you. I did it more than once with new character.
It's a matter of route, look at the different places and plan your route. It also helps to sprint in the direction you are about to jump and manage your jumps according to the class you're playing. The first time I did it, I found it frustrating, until I caught onto what I said above.

WAIT, you have triple jump and only had two? Looks like you stepped off before jumping, and failed to maintain sprint. That jump is easy.

Edit: You also did the second jump too soon.
