There are however campaigns on the Tangled Shore, on the Moon, and on Europa, which are all available to do.
This isn't like a one time decision. They plan to "vault" some content pretty much every time they introduce a new expansion. At the same time, they'll also introduce new content (and possibly some older, refurbished content as well (as they did with the Cosmodrome for Beyond Light).
The Legendary Edition (while on sale) basically gives you the two older expansions for free. That's probably the best deal you're going to get on those. There's a good chance that Forsaken will be the next thing "vaulted" once Witch Queen is released (about a year from now).
The content is transitory. Don't hold off hoping that it'll all come back at some point. It won't.
Either play it now, and enjoy it now, or just move on in general.
Shadowkeep and post-Shadowkeep content should have been its own game but the scam was to milk as much money as possible from Steam players after the move.
Shadowkeep was the price of a AAA game i don't give a crap if New Light was F2P or not...because they screwed up the game and all of the F2P portions were garbage.
They were still charging full price for the rest of the DLC as well of course.
and now, they STILL charge 52 dollars for the Deluxe Edition, ON SALE for a game where they ADMIT they deleted almost half of the content.
Nothing should have been removed at all and they not only removed content New Light basically destroyed the game for new Steam players because they made 90 percent of the content useless and too easy. In New Light you could one shot everything as soon as you installed the game except for bosses.
It was a garbage experience in 2019, and it's a garbage experience in 2021.
The fanbois defending the scam try and say no one played the older content. Uhm excuse me, new players would want to. Duh. I made a new guy in The Division, 3 times or so...and played through all of the content more than once.
Apparently Bungie thinks you should not be allowed to do that after you already paid for all of the content.
Uninstalled for life.
Quote from an article about the game :
"Year Four saw the biggest overhaul on the game, as nearly half of the game's content from its first three years, including the original base campaign as well as Curse of Osiris and Warmind, were removed from the game and placed into what Bungie calls the Destiny Content Vault, which also contains all content from the original Destiny. Alongside this change, Year Four began with the fifth expansion, Beyond Light (November 2020),"\
