If your NAT has changed suddenly, this normally indicates that your network configuration has changed.
For more information, please review the below Help article.

Nothing new there.
I have tried it mate, no joy.
Only happens with Destiny, no changes in NAT type. - as I said every other online game is not effected.
I'm blaming D2 and its updates. - tried steam and checking the file integrity too.
Bought a new router yesterday so that I can forward ports only if necessary. - Don't really want to.
I appreciate you suggesting anyways
With this in mind, you are likely screwed, unless you mess around with your internet settings. The devs catching the issue and potentially fixing it, could take months. Bungie works at snails pace when it comes to patching things, so that only makes things worst.
I do understand that you’re not necessarily thrilled about this answer.
NAT issues are not something that are controlled by Bungie. NAT is an issue that can only be addressed at the local networking level. I know this from personal experiences.
On numerous occasions, my NAT has changed, on its own, from Open to either Moderate or Strict. After performing some checks, I have found that it was either my router not assigning my assigned IP to my computer or my router simply needed to be rebooted.
Networking issues can appear at random and can come at oddly convenient times. I can only advise that you check out the Port Forwarding section of the Network Troubleshooting Guide and try the steps provided in that section.
There are also resources available online that can help you determine the steps you need to properly port forward, if you wish to do so.
- God, I thought that I was the only one who experienced the same issue. I had exactly the same issues as your brother when I initially started playing D2, so I can totally relate.
You right about them working at snails pace haha, although they are quick at talking your money, ain't they? :D
Let's hope that there's a fix in place soon, as I've just spent £100 on a new router because of this (also I needed an upgrade, I wouldn't buy it because of D2 alone.).
Yep same, in like a few months or so .....
THEN SUDDENLY !!
I got another firmware update yesterday and my router settings were updated, defaulted and one of the very line items listed as a fix was "accidentally preventing some external websites from being connected, filtered out or blocked as intrusions."
I am free from the tyranny of Pedowood, California once again. They'll never get another dime from me.
Also, something changed in your router settings.
lol
