Destiny2 / Getting disconnected from the game.
I've been playing Destiny2 for over a year now. I play on a PC through steam with an AT&T YOU-verse modem. Iv'e been getting kicked out of game play and back into orbit ever since I downloaded the Destiny2 Beyond Light expansion. I never had any problems playing the game before that. Keeps giving error messages like "Bird" or "Beetle" "Trying to connect to Destiny two servers pops up a lot. Iv'e gone to my modems properties page and set the gateway to "Moderate" instead of the factory set " Strict" Nat Type. But that didn't work. Then I shut off all of my WiFi and disconnected it so I only had Ethernet connecting me to the internet. Still didn't work. This only happens when I'm in the tower or when I'm playing Gambit or Crucible. The game keeps disconnecting me and then hitting me with penalties. Like first I got hit with a two week suspension. Then a two month suspension. Now they just hit me with a lifetime ban on match making if it continues to happen. But. I'm not doing anything but playing the game. The same game that worked perfectly fine before i downloaded the Beyond Light Expansion.
Does anybody know why this is happening and how to fix it. Because I've had AT&T out here. Talked endlessly on the phone to them and Tried the qeek squad at Best Buy,s too. And nobody seems to know what the deal is. HELP!!!

That's odd. From what I can look up, Bird is due to poor internet connection or cheating, and Beetle is due to server issues.

if this internet box you have uses cellular internet I'm pretty sure that's why, i have a buddy that uses cellular internet for gaming and its just causes all sorts of problems similar to yours and more.

I can't figure it out.

Hey Dude ... Firstly your "NAT Type" should be Open ... if its "moderate or strict" you got server issues so the guys above are right on both counts. If your being suspended or banned then somewhere or someone is doing some nefarious act that has you being labelled or reported as doing so, if your not doing anything nefarious then you got some work to do to help you fix your issues ...

So ... your need to go to your steam D2 game window in "library" and check if your D2 gaming files aren't corrupted by verifying them ... if you know how to do this then do that first ... if not then

1. go to D2 (in your steam acc), at the bottom right there are 3 buttons "manage", "show details", "add to favourites" ... click "manage" ... click properties and a window will open ... got to "Local Files" and open ... there you'll find " Verify integrity of game files... " ... open and wait till completed ... if not ok re-download game until it verifies games files ( a pain in the butt ... YEP ... ) but if ok ... then your game is ok but your server issue is not ... next ...

2. Your nefarious acts ... if you've been banned then you've been banned ... there's no fixing that until its lifted ... sorry dude that's a stop "pissing people off" thing ...

3. Your "NAT Type" issue ... that involves you going to your in-game settings first ... in "Game Play" scroll to the bottom of the page to "Network Data" note down the internal and external numbers (your going to need to know them later) ... check if your "NAT" type is "Open", "Moderate" or "Strict" ... if "Open"your good to go (maybe) ... your customised settings and your internet service may be an issue too ... so check any internet outages in your local area or storm factors that may contribute to your issues also.

If your have a "moderate or strict" NAT type ... then you may need to go to your "Router Network provider" and manually add those numbers you noted down from the in-game "Game Play" Network Data section ... both the "internal and external port numbers" to make sure that you get an "Open" NAT type listed ... if you know how to do enter those numbers then I suggest you do so ... if not then you got more work ahead ...

note:
Bungie loves to constantly change those port numbers so you may have to change them multiple times.

4. Your Router issue ... (if you don't know how to) ... log into you "Router Network Admin" ... every router user interface window settings are different so bare with me and you'll have to use your own initiative to figure out where to go also ...
find your "Port Forwarding access control of your Network gateway" ...

note:
make sure you know your devices IP address number (it should be like your internet address ... like a " 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2 depending on how many devices you have attached to your internet be it a PC or cell/ mobile phone, tablet or whatever ...
they all use differing identifying IP looking numbers to differentiate themselves from one another ")

After finding your port forwarding access point ... your going to manually enter the:

Service Name: Bungie.net
External Host: 104.20.28.30 (this is Bungie's IP address)
Internal Host: (this is your PC, cell/ mobile phone, tablet or whatever's IP address)
Protocol: TCP or UDP or both TCP-UDP
External Port: (this number is from the Network Data you noted from in-game)
Internal Port: (this number is from the Network Data you noted from in-game)

and add or save .. hopefully this should give you a "NAT Type" - Open

if not ... well S..T ... you got issues Dude ... if so ... well S..T ... that's cool dude ...
remember: Bungie changes its port numbers constantly ... keep track of it until your sick of it ...
Good hunting, stop pissing others off and fight the cool fight or look good at dying ... later Dude.
