Can't launch game

I saw that the game got a big update so I decided to try the game again. but when I went to launch it it just says error (app running) every time. I look in the task manager while trying to launch it but nothing relating to destiny 2 or steam ever opens after hitting launch. I played the game before on my crappy laptop and it ran fine, but of course now that I have a decent computer it wont even launch. I don't even know what to start with troubleshooting because it gives me no error message other than app running.

Edit: 1. I found that there's a little window that pops up briefly from battleye that says failed to launch game

2. I got it to say "Note: File blocks can be ignored if they don't cause problems with the game.
[INFO] Blocked loading of file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2\destiny2.exe"".

3. I just decided to use Google Stadia and it works great. I’m waiting to see if bungie fixes it or maybe it just starts working Idk for now I’m good.

No, Im in the latest version of windows 10

hmm a lot of us who use windows 7 still have had the same problem as you. I'm glad that it's not just people who use windows 7 its other users with windows 10 as well. Hopefully there will be an update soon to those who still cannot play. It's really annoying when they release an update not everyone can use.

Im on windows 10 and my game crashes 5 minutes after playing.
On my first run after update I didn't have any crashes.
It's a bug and it shows how bungie does not care about players.
we're missing this week since it seems bungie will update game in week reset.

Maybe I'd buy something if I could even launch the game to get to the store lol

It is making me upset.
I spent my money and bought 3 DLC and now what I see is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Bngie support sucks, I really don't want refund I want to play like others, they should run some tests before updating. it shows how this company care less about players.

yeah i just checked up on the destiny 2 forums people with different software systems have this same issue. Windows 7,8 and 10 all been having the same issue. "destiny2.exe - system error. It sucks and I want to play the game but we'll all have to wait until Bungie does something about it.

Got the same error my friend and i tried EVERYTHING to fix it, even went to other games (that use battleye) forums to search for a fix and all other company devs had to issue a fix for it. Guess we'll have to wait for some time for bungie to fix it...

I found a solution to the problem in another game, but it works in Destiny 2 as well. I deleted the entire BattleEye folder and deleted the game's exe startup file. After that, I ran a file check. Before, the file checker didn't help, but after deleting this folder, the game downloaded them again and it worked.
