Not really if you understood anticheat thats not how it works. I'm sure bungie would if that was a thing
Actually, they could have easily installed it into their servers, hardened their servers/firewalls, and continued on without people having the ability to mod the code of the software (BattleEye can be hacked) thus bypassing security measures meant to make the game "fair for all".
Instead, they went for the cheap route (which many companies do) which is to have the end user be responsible for installing a nanny-bot that tattles if they use a trainer...or possibly that was their antivirus...or maybe it was someone's homemade chat program because they code for school. Or maybe it was Windows updater. etc. You get the point. BattleEye can be triggered by false positives and has been - often!
Meanwhile, server-sided anti-cheat software cannot be modded without literally having physical access to the servers or via some very high-level hacking (not really what you'd consider "worth their time" for most cheaters), it seldom has false positives, and generally is never even noticed by the gaming community because it just works. Quietly. In the background while you play.
So, let me ask you this: Now that you know server-sided anti-cheat software is really a thing, do you now understand why some people might have an issue downloading and installing another piece of software, written by yet another company, that is monitoring your computer during gameplay and possibly storing various pieces of information that you aren't even aware of?
If you still think it's fine, could you explain why? Genuinely curious and the other thread got locked.
yeah this i dont trust here "trainer" is typically cheating lingo, as well is the term "nannybot" battleye does not ban things that dont interfere with game files, and theres lots of information on the web to make it so that you dont get false positives from antivirus. it wont even flag homemade code if its not interfereing with game files.

Sorry Mr.Cheater we don't accept that behavior here:steamsalty:
Fully proactive kernel-based protection system and fast dynamic and permanent scanning of the player’s system using specific and heuristic/generic detection routines for maximum effectiveness.

Do you understand what any of those words are supposed to mean? Just another brainwashed normie yes man.
This dude has 800 hours on Arma, his number 1 most played game, and that runs battle eye LMAOOOOOO caught in 8k making a big deal outta nothing. Obviously has used battle eye on games it came with day 1 so I guess the problem is Destiny didn't have this anti cheat to begin with like it should have TBH, no one will care 2 months from now.

Your sponge inside your skull cant understand, that some people not playing PvP, so why the heck i need to install anticheat, that will lagg my system and will not do anything in my game and just load system? :steamfacepalm:
You will not notice any difference. Stop whining.

I did, it crashed for the VERY first time, EVER.

when it was on Battle.NET....didn't crash EVER...disconnects sure...it is Bungie servers after all, then when they moved to steam......no crashes....disconnections though...as i said, Bungie servers after all.

So, the only logical possibility is that it was the Anti-Cheat Software......just saying.

I mean i play Division 2 and that uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and it doesn't crash or slow down the game at all, especially after i found out the install was corrupted and did a reinstall of the Easy Anti-Cheat software, after that it runs flawlessly.

Maybe the install of this anti-cheat spyware is corrupted and might need reinstalling.

Man was this a funny read. So many people with no idea what they are talking about, fearing an application they don't understand that's less intrusive and collects less data than the operating system they are currently running

It is optional: you have the option to stop playing the game and go cheat somewhere else.
so just cause he doesn't like the anticheat means he cheats?

I don't like it either due to me spending a majority of my time on linux so seeing this honestly made me sad (i dual boot just to play this and two other games from time to time)

Not everyone is a cheater if they don't like anticheat man

EAC is trash compared to Battle Eye. Battle Eye actually bans people in Siege more effectively on its own than Massive ever has done by hand. Div 1 never had anti cheat and Div 2's was some cobbled up hunk of ass

what is wrong with anticheat?

Well, clearly a LOT of people have been cheating, and now they can't. ;)

Personally, I'm finding all the cheater tears pretty amusing.
