BattlEye and Cheat Engine install?
What will happen to my D2 account if BattlEye detects an installed copy of Cheat Engine or a similar application?

Since the update was pushed, I've not played D2 due to the BattlEye install requirement. My concern here is not with Destiny 2 or the performance impact. I use Cheat Engine for many single-player titles, but cheating in PvP isn't of any interest (and thankfully it's not even possible with most games). Now, I've read that BattlEye scans physical drives and RAM, and that some people have had their Ubisoft accounts banned simply due to this thing detecting that Cheat Engine was merely INSTALLED, not even running at the same time.

Frankly, I bloody *hate* PvP in Destiny 2. The only reason I ever bother with it is when some idiotic quest requires grinding in those activities.

I think the community requires some clarity on this. I'm not going to install BattlEye until I know for sure that it's not going to result in my D2 account getting banned just because I've got CE installed, and if it *will*, and Bungie insists on using this garbage in future, then Beyond Light is the last bit of D2 content I'll have spent money on.

I don't know if Battleye will flag you for having CE, inactive, on your drive while playing Destiny 2. But if it does, I believe your account will be banned. Permanently.

No one cares what you do when you're playing a single-player game, but CE is going to be a huge red flag if it's active when you're playing Destiny 2.

Personally, I'd suggest removing it from your system.

You might be surprised just how many idiots out there equate having CE installed with being a cheater in PvP. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Or, for that matter, how many people have an opinion on others using CE for fun in single-play. Unfortunately, people *do* care. I wish they'd mind their own business, but c'est la vie.

Frankly, not being able to play D2 in the future isn't a big deal for me. The game has become more and more of a chore to play in the last year and the Infinite Grind is starting to get on my nerves. So, I'd rather have CE installed and be able to use it with other games than play Destiny 2.

I'm hoping, though, that that won't be the case. I'd prefer to keep it installed if I can.

Well... like I say, solo games, most people don't care. Or shouldn't.

But ... CE will raise a red flag for the VAC system (if it's active) so I'm sure it'll do that for Battleye too.

AFAIK the VAC system won't care if it's INactive, but I don't know about Battleye.

I don't think you can get banned for having CE installed, but if i were you i'd just go to the Battleye support page and open a ticket and ask if it's possible for it to happen, it could take a few days but it's better to be safe than looking for posts from 4 years ago from larry who totally didn't cheat and it was only luck that he pre-fired on every occasion that someone came out of a door for 3 weeks straight

I have been playing d2 for ages and I have cheat engine installed with no issues, I've never had cheat engine running while playing destiny 2 though, but it isn't hard to avoid that. I don't think theres currently any game that bans you for anything like this right now, the least of all destiny 2.

I think the closest is valorant, however that doesn't ban you for software that is (intentionally or unintentionally) exploitable for cheating unless the software is running when you are trying to play the game, not any other time.

Cheers, I'll do that. I was hoping to get a Bungie rep's response here, but I'll see what BattlEye's people have to say about it.

I would *hope* this is case, as it would actually be reasonable. Not about to risk it, of course.

Will probably ban you if CE is active when playing D2, you should be fine if it's inactive.

You know or you could just like have cheat engine on an external hard drive and not have it plugged in when playing destiny. Since you obviously have to cheat in singleplayer games. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If its not active it wont throw a flag... If its active it will........ So maybe dont give battleye a reason to hate you?

In singleplayer games we are allowed to do what we want because it only affects one person, the one who is playing. In MP it affects others. Thats why a majority of people use console commands in Fallout and Skyrim because Todd's not gonna kick down the door to stick a shotgun up your ass. Cheat engine is just the name for it but there's many other versions like trainers that do the same as CE but easier for normal users

Aslong as its for SP it should be fine regardless, BE only detects stuff running during gameplay as far as i know. I have WeMod installed (collection of trainers i mainly use for CP2077) and nothing really happened.

i dont believe for one second that you dont cheat in PvP. Once a cheater always a cheater.
Echo2Omega Aug 30, 2021 @ 10:31am
Don't run cheat engine at the same time you play destiny 2 ?

See? People are literally incapable of A) Separating the two concepts or B) Minding their own business ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What a horrible world.
