Is it worth buying Forsaken and Shadowkeep at this point?

Hi, casual solo player here. Started playing recently. I played through OG campaign and expansions. I know the new expansion is coming soon and some of the old content will be removed.
Would buying Forsaken + Shadowkeep now be a waste of money for just the story content and solo playthrough? Are there any rumors of these expansions becoming free (or being removed like original campaign)?

Edit: Thanks for the help, guys. Looks Destiny 2 + expansions will be coming to Gamepass PC next year so I will just wait for that since I am already a sub.

If (& that's a big IF) Shadowkeep ever goes F2P it wouldn't be until the Witch Queen xpak next year... but that's only if Forsaken goes F2P when Beyond Light launches (Which I doubt)

What? No, everything up to beyond light is free right now with Xbox Game Pass which means you should be able to play it on PC as well. Don't pay for it...

Its for console only. Also, its not free. Its $10/month now, was $5.

I did google it and looked through 3 different sites and didnt see anything till i clicked on the question “Will Destiny 2 be on game pass for PC?” And it brought up the bungie faqs

Forsaken is VERY MUCH worth it. I personally would say no to Shadowkeep due to its short campaign

The season pass is definitely worth it because Witherhoard comes with the pass and is another OP weapon you must have. All these weapons are not being Sunset and can be used in Beyond Light.

Why are people on PC using Xbox gamepass. I have a F2P account on PC with the season pass from back in June of this year and have clocked more than 1200 hours on the F2P. It cost me zip, nothing, nada. If you are paying for this content then you got jipped and ripped off. I have since then purchased Forsaken and Shadowkeep and that cost me $$$, but that is it.

People saying that Shadowkeep is a waste of time... SMH. Shadowkeep has the best weapons so far and you would be robbing yourself if you don't get it. Gnawing Hunger, Falling Guillotine and Bad Omens REQUIRE shadowkeep to get them. They are Meta bigtime! Falling Guillotine is the most powerful weapon in the game so far. They had to nerf it because it was OP and it is still OP after the nerf. Gnawing Hunger has caused many a tears in PVP and the crybabies are STILL crying about that weapon.

You do not need Shadowkeep for gnawing hunger or the sword, they are from the season pass. Shadow keep is not worth the money, as the meta is also shifting away from those wepons next season
