ive been using a xbox 360controller and my ps4 controller with no issues

It is when your pc is trying to reinstall a driver over and over, which might be the problem.

Yeah, had the same issue with a regular XB1 controller and Elite Series 2 using bluetooth. I wouldn't call it frame drops, in my case and many others out there with the same problem, it would cause "stuttering". Unfortunately, you have 2 options.....use it wired or purchase the Microsoft XBOX Wireless Adapter. I use the adapter.

Except it kind of did because your solution was not the solution to his problem. Just saying you shouldn't give a potential solution until you get more information.
