Why do people consider hunters to be the most OP class in the crucible?

i'm sorry but did you just say hunter is the slowest class in the game? STOMP-EE5 / Mask of Bakris. they give you insane mobility and you have your dodge too. hunter is the only class that can dodge. how is it the slowest?

Hunter is considered OP because is the class that a VERY GOOD pvp player can perform crazy good with it. We are not talking about good players, we are talking about top 0.1%. I'm part of that %, and I main hunter (can play any class, and play all too for trials). Hunter in my opinion is the only one when I can literally obliterate everything. So. Much. Flexibility.

That said is it op? no. You don't check the top 0.1% to see if it's OP, you check the majority. The majority is bad with hunter, titan is much more forgiving and warlock is very good if used well. I think in general we are in the middle spot.

I mean warlock has a crazy roaming super for high level pvp. They have the safety of being in the air during their super making them hard to hit with special weapons

This is why I was talking about the top 0.1% and the rest. Think about trials or surv: if we see a lock with super ready, we keep 1 sniper shot each, if he pops it we call it an "easy kill", cause 9 out of 10 time we headshot you before you click. That's why I said there is a difference between the top and what people usually face against. That's why hunter is OP if you are top 0.1% but if you are a normal player it's another story.

These discussions always end in the same way. Titans will complain that Hunters are OP and ignore everything they have to use that is good. Hunters will point fingers at the other two classes and completely disregard anything that they have thats good, regardless if you have hard statistics or not on what's used the most and the actual reasons WHY hunter is picked over the other two in a PvP setting, which will then be deflected with "Well uh thats just because theyre the coolest class!".

And Warlocks will be in the background sipping a cold refreshing beverage and eating their popcorn.

changing the use of dodge to a long distance invisible dodge is better. so that means they have great mobility with this exotic if you prefer a shorter cooldown on your dodge with great mobility stick to STOMP-EE5. Because ever since the game launched, Hunters have always had multiple subclasses available as the top options in PvP. Of the 9 Light subclasses, the top 4 performance-wise are Dawnblade, Nightstalker, Gunslinger, and Striker. Notice how Hunter is represented twice? Arcstrider is usually in the middle at #5, though people who played in Y1 will probably remember that Arcstrider dominated Crucible unchallenged back then.

Meanwhile, Hunters have never had any of their subclasses in the lower half of statistical rankings. Those lower slots are usually rotating with Sentinel, Stormcaller, and Sunbreaker.

So the only thing that's changed over the course of D2 is that Striker and Dawnblade were gradually buffed to be competitive with them, in late Y2 and late Y3 respectively. That's a long time for Hunters to have no competition.

While all Hunter subclasses are good for competitive PvP, Warlocks and Titans only have one [relatively recent] option. If you look at it in terms of trends, Hunter as a whole performs above average, Warlocks are in the middle, and Titans are below average.

thats becuase hunter players are usually better and arc strider is just blank hitmakers and shadowshot doesnt work 3/4 of the time and dawnblade and behemoth are absolutely insane please never state your opinion about this ever again

Not sure if you are the Catherina that I found on destiny tracker, but if it's you, you reached max silver on pvp. That's why you think like that. It's simple lack of knowledge and experience (not your fault).

The fact that you literally use the word "sweats" means you are not part of the upper pvp ladder. And to clarify, the sweats you talk about are not good players, are normal ones. The streamers and youtuber you watch are not the top either.

The mask is balanced, is not the top pick for a really good player, cause it simply doesn't work against really good players. I can counter them, so they can counter it too. It reduce a lot the flexibility of the class, and it's strenght. It create a good feature, but limit the overall potential of the class. So it's balanced. And btw stompee ain't the best too.

You have to understand that this is a fps, gimmicks never wins against pure skill, and good players adapt pretty easily to gimmicks.

Now in the ladder where you are things are different, cause the normal player base can't adapt to gimmicks and think like you. However, atm, there are a lot more broken gimmicks in your league than the use of the mask.

first of all. assuming that i'm the Catherina you found on destiny tracker and acting upon it proves how simple minded you're. unlike you i'm not gonna assume what elo you play in. but you proved that you're neither a hunter main or even a decent pvp player. because STOMP-EE5 are unanimously agreed to be the best exotic for hunters in pvp. as for mask of bakris it's of similar power but the skill-gap is insane something you'll find hard to understand. it doesn't reduce the potential of the class but makes it more powerful. maybe you should get better or do some research before theorizing. if it's pure skill like you're saying that matters rather than a certain build then i see no point in discussing further with you. and you're nowhere near my league ~

There is a simple difference between us, I don't hide behind words, link your tracker, or your opinion is invalid. There is only one guy with my name on the tracker and it's me :) And I'm a hunter main. And I'm top 0.1% each season for the last year, unbroken the first day each season, with 3.4 kd even in trials....So people like you before opening their mouth can check the tracker and think (but you didn't, otherwise you wouldn't have even dared to write something so clueless).

What I'm saying is based on real knowledge, and skill. Cause I'm on that top 0.1% and I play with those players both against and in my group.

I think I hit the right spot, seeing your response, you are a silver league player that got caught talking about things he doesn't even understand. Stop giving bad advice and wrong opinion when your skill don't reflect the minimun requirement to give them.
