Matchmaking on dungeons good or bad idea?

It could work if completing the thing once is a prerequisite for it, or just to tag along with a friend who has.

Where are u searching for other players? Use the discord lfg and u'll find a fireteam within 5 min, or if u wanna play prophecy be prepared to get a fireteam filled in 2 seconds.

Matchmaking for harder stuff always has problems though. I mean if you look at an LFG and see the amount of gatekeeping is on there, can only imagine the horror stories in a match made dungeon.

The dungeon is easy enough but not everyone is at the same skill level and people can be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mean to someone thats just not as fluent with the game. I personally like to help people through stuff, regardless of how experienced they are but im probably in the minority.

Might work, might not. Definitely a bad idea for raids, but dungeons aren't that hard.

Try the D2 PC LFG Discord if you want to find a fireteam pretty easily.

trust me i already know it would be a bad idea for raids but like you said dungeons are easy as long as you completed it once. Im with the top comment having a prereq. for one completion.

Matchmaking should be a toggle, let me decide if I want to play with other people or not. Either that or add LFG into the game instead of the several different places you can do it currently

eh, as someone said, maybe have a completion as a prerequisite for joining matchmaking. not sure I would want to be matchmade with someone who didn't know how the cube room in Prophecy works for example, especially when there's guarantee they speak the same language or are even willing to communicate.

I agree with that im just saying if they do something like matchmaking, have it where a mic is required and have a completion under their belt. Also only have it on Dungeons and not Raids or Trials.

Shattered Throne and Pit would be okay. There's way too much potential for trolling with motes in prophecy though.

How does it take you hours? I can find a team in like 2 minutes for prophecy all the time

Strikes have no mechanics, its just kill stuff and move. No need to talk to the random your with and they can even drop out or go kill other stuff without really stopping you from finishing the Strike. So in game matching matching there is not an issue.

Raids and Dungeons have mechanics that you need to follow as a group. So matchmaking on Dungeons or even Master nightfall the ordeals could be an issue, if the ransoms do not have the right gear or know the mechanics, you will most likely fail.

But I do not see any issues having it at an option, just do not expect that many to use it. The Discord Destiny 2 LFG channel works better for me.

I have run many Raids and Dungeons with random players but always via discord.
