FPS information Thread
If you have the the FPS Drop some people are experiencing please post what GPU you are using here.

The goal of this is to try and better understand what is causing the problem.

Edit:
For some of you posting generic solutions: the game has worked before the update, something within the update cause frame rate issues for some of us. That is what this is about.

i have a Gigabyte Radeon 5700xt OC edition, used to get like 110-140 fps, now i get 40-50 in 5 out of 7 areas of the game, most of which i used to have amazing performance in.

So is the low latency mode in the nvidia settings different from the low latency mode in the nvidia panel? I've had that on for over a month and it didn't cause any issue, actually made me a LITTLE better at pvp lol.

2080/9700k before patch had solid 100-70 fps in every area, now I have stutter and drops to 50 frames...

Turn off NIVIDA Reflex.

For players who want to tweak their experience, the value in the following line from Destiny 2 install's CVARS.xml file can be adjusted:

<cvar name="low_latency_mode" value="1" />

To turn off Reflex Low Latency functionality, set the value to 0. This may slightly improve framerate at the expense of latency.
Default Reflex Low Latency functionality is enabled when the value is set to 1.
When the value is set to 2, Reflex Low Latency with Boost is enabled. This feature overrides the power saving features in the GPU but can provide slight increases in latency reduction.

Changing it to 0 or 2 for me resulted in the same difference. I would recommend 0 as it most likely wouldn't cause issues as it never existed before anyway. Though you can try 2.

The file is located in "%appdata%\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs", copy + paste that into the address bar in file explorer, or paste it into Windows 10's search and it should open the folder in explorer.
FPS loss with Nvidia reflex is negligible. All that feature is doing is removing 3-4ms from the rendering latency. Pretty sure the low fps is from the engine changes.

Yes it's different, the low latency mode in nvcp is actually frames rendered ahead which is an age old setting you could change for over 10 years using Nvidia inspect8 and then later on it appeared in the nvcp as latency mode.

Nvidia reflex is different.
Change it to 0 in the car..... But I will be honest, I noticed zero difference

180fps flying through space while loading into Gambit at 1920x1080.
120fps " " "" "" at 2560x1440.

40fps while in Gambit battling in either 1920x1080 or 2560x1440.

RX480 8GB.

Ryzen 5 3600 and rx 5600xt, 45fps on Tangled Shore, before BL over 80fps at 1920x1080. Performance this game became disgusting due to new system global illumination.

Can anybody please run the game in windowed mode and comment how the game feels in terms of smoothness and stuttering.

I had a go today with all settings on low. Max GPU load of around 80%.

I ran the game in full screen & windowed mode.
In full screen the game was very choppy rough feeling in general with AI animations juddery.

I ran the game in windowed mode all same settings and everything was smooth as butter.

Anybody else find this?

This is all with Nvidia reflex disabled in the cvar

with my 3070 i had problems so i installed my 1070 ti its runs better but not as good as before
Natjur Nov 15, 2020 @ 11:58am
I would get dropped from the game (as if I had a bad network)
When I disabled the shader cache on nvidia control panel, that fixed the issue. So odd!

Enable multi thread render in cvars gives a very large increase in fps, but causes strong flickering shadows.
