Old player returning - missed migration deadline
Today I woke up and felt like playing some Destiny 2. After not playing the game for a long time I found out that the game has been moved to steam. No problem, I can play on steam. However, steam does not contain the DLCs for which I paid Blizzard. Now I understand that I had to migrate my account from Battle.net to Steam but I now read that the deadline for this was December first, 2020.

I find it very rude that Bungee can set a deadline for account migration as old players returning like me are unaware of such things as account migration deadlines. I simply want access to the parts of the game for which I paid.

So what do I do now?

Bungee has no active customer support as far as I know and both Steam and Blizzard are referring me to the community page from Bungee.

As mentioned in the pinned thread, the PC Migration process ended at 9am pacific time on 12/1.

Unfortunately, the migration process is no longer available.

Please note that the Bungie Store Customer Support team is not the same support team for the game and can only be used for questions and errors regarding orders and other inquiries regarding the Bungie Store.

You have had since before Shadowkeep released to migrate your account.

Bungie have sent out multiple emails and reminders in game about the deadline.

It's your own fault you have lost content because you didn't pay attention!

Thank you for your unhelpful comment. Not all of us have time to keep up with each and every game's individual problems and procedures. Furthermore, in my opinion, it is the developer or publisher who is responsible for successfully carrying over paid content.

I do not care for lost characters but I would like access to the DLC content for which I already paid as it does not make sense to pay for it again.

Blizzard set the deadline, not Bungie. Account migration requires Blizzard to keep your data, so that it can be transferred to Steam. Given that Blizzard have literally nothing to do with Destiny any more, you can't expect them to do that forever. As the person above mentioned, numerous emails were sent out explaining what you had to do and how long you would have to do it. You can try to contact Bungie, but I have no idea if your data even exists any more or if Bungie will be able to get it.

Thank you for further explaining the situation. The situation is clear yet the solution remains unknown. I am certain there is a way for bungee to reactivate the DLC's for which I already paid. Yet bungee does not have an active customer support so how do I reach them?

A lot has changed.

You will not "miss" your old characters, because a lot is obsolete now, and also whatever you paid for, apart from Forsaken and the last two DLC's, it's removed (hopefully temporary) from the game.

Maybe this is functional for you: https://eu.bungiestore.com/pages/customer-service

"Blizzard set the deadline"
So what?

What Bungie should have done is take the data from Blizzard and handle migration themselves.
The Fanboys on Steam find the most ridiculous excuses why Bungie can't even get the most basic things done, that somehow every other company in the world manage to do...

Bungie partners with Blizzard. Bungie breaks with Blizzard.
Bungie partners with Activision. Bungie breaks with Activision.

Yeah, I can totally see why you blame the customer . . . *facepalm*

Thank you for being helpful, unlike some others in the chat here. I have sent a message to Bungie. I'll post their reply here once I have received it.

Please undo your post as 'the answer' to this issue, because it is not. Also, it does not seem very helpful that Bungie is willing to help people make new purchases while not being able to help to resolve older purchases.

All this is a serious display of lack of integrity if you ask me. In my opinion, the most 'human' and 'customer friendly' solution to this problem is this:

Bungie: "ah, you have purchased this game before? Can you please show me the receipt?"
Customer: *shows receipt*
Bungie: "Thank you for contacting us, your purchase will be restored immediately, have a nice day."

That can not be that hard right?

I mean, you had over a year to migrate. It's on you.

No, but only in a perfect world, and "we" are far away from that.

My advice: Don't forget what happened, but carry on. Destiny 2 is stil fun, it's more challenging than ever, even if it's artificial LOL, or leave it behind.

Good luck!

You're not getting your data back. You had over a year to handle this and there was numerous warnings to do so. I bought MCC on xbox, and when microsoft brought it to steam, did I get it for free? Of course not, because it's two separate platforms. You had the chance to transfer your account and now it's gone. If you want to play again, you're going to have to remake everything and buy the dlc again

The original storyline, 2 planets related to it, Curse of Osiris and Warmind have been removed.
If you had Forsaken it has also been gutted, legendary loot is unobtainable, Exotics are still there but their quests are basically gone and same with Shadowkeep.

You didn't miss much even if you don't get your old account back.

Shame on both parties involved. Migration should have happened automatically. I just downloaded the game on gamepass and this is the first I'm reading about account migration. I only played like 10 hours so it's not a big loss but I genuinely did not receive any emails from battle.net or bungie ever. This is enough to put a bad taste in my mouth going forward and I'm not sure I want to spend any more time, certainly any money, in this game.
