Your maximum jump height is tied to your Mobility stat. So, the lower tiered that stat is, the shorter your jump will be.
Also, it depends on your class. With Warlocks, there is a certain trick to get your Warlock jump to be as effective as any other jump.
I have tried the double click of the space bar but is doesn't seem to help much. I might have to do with my arthritis and muscle coordination.
I like burst glide the most, the others feel a bit too slow. Just stand still and quickly double tap space and you should go straight up in the air up to your max height.
Same thing with the Titan's jump from what I've seen from playing all three classes.
Titan jumps a little bit less so, due to it being a lift, rather than a glide.
It does work in some capacity, but there’s a max height. With Warlock, it’s usually a lot more predictable: the sooner you activate the second jump, the higher/farther you can go
I've always used scroll up for kinetic, scroll down for energy and middle mouse for heavy. Been playing with the exact same controls for so long now that I think switching something would seriously mess me up, lol.
Scroll jumping can be useful for some things but I'm well versed in smashing the space bar from years of Quake.
I was a little hesitant to post this question, thinking I'd get laughed at. But ya'll seem really mature. It's quite refreshing in this day and age.
I'll be the first one to admit that I have ruined many a raid runs all because I completely whiffed my jumps because I thought I was on my Hunter when I really was on my Warlock. Ruined a Petra's Run too.
It's a good laugh moment. It happens to all of us!
Have fun out there!
If you're using burst or strafe glide, you want to jump and at the peak of your jump press jump again and hold it for elevation then directional control. If you're using Warlock - Solar - attunement of Sky, you can also press X (twice) for an in-air dash. Just practice with it and you'll get the hang of it.
It can be done on a hunter without any special gear. There are alternating platforms that you have to look for. There are also shortcuts in certain spots.
