Hey bungie, maybe you can leave the whole team so we can report the quitters for griefing. Its at the point of being annoying. Bring it haters!

It’s half an hour I believe, dunno what happens if you leave another match after that ban. I’ve only ever got the half hour ban

I quit matches that I know I can’t win because my teammates are brain dead, plus I’d rather not have my kd ruined because of bad teammates. It’s not like I quit many matches probably only 2 or 3 in the last week lol.

Although i don't agree with the way OP is handling this, I do think punishment needs to be a bit more heavy handed. 30 minutes is not enough. I know the system is based off of a matches completed/matches left ratio and once you pass that threshold, youll get a timeout... But this is THE end-game PvP. THE competitive mode for D2 PvP. If you quit too many games in a weekend, they should honestly just bar that person from playing the rest of the weekend.

Problem is then you run the risk of pissing off people who get disconnected by the games bad connection

Absolutely not. The penalty is there to disincentivize salty quitting, but not be so bad to stop people from leaving toxic matches with toxic people or cheaters. Just bailed on two games tonight. One group was blatantly speed-hacking and the other was a full stack of flawless sweats with perfect Adept Messengers teabagging us on the very first match of the card. Sorry not sorry for quitting, but I have better things to do than be cannon-fodder for cheaters or toxic sweats.

Yeah this as well.

Earlier I and 2 randoms got bodied as they were very... talented at not coordinating at all...
Anyway I ended up with the same two the next game against the same 3 clan peeps who just bodied us.

The first guy instantly left, I played one round then got my teammates attention and quit in front of him letting him know he'd either be going solo or have the choice to quit with us.

This is because it was a lost game as soon as our 3rd left. There's no surrender and the game expects you to keep playing with such a disadvantage. Luckily there isn't a punishment for leaving (yet)

Don't play then? I know it sucks, but you're ruining the experience for others by lagging around and/or dcing. If you go in knowing you have bad connections, its should be on you.

I mean yeah thats fair enough but im more thinking about times when your power goes out or the internet just stops working lol, it would suck to be band for the weekend because of something thats just unlucky

Yeah, except many times, it's not a local issue. I remember getting DC'd repeatedly and being banned from Comp. Everyone blamed my 'potato internet', up/down time, router. I spent money and time trying to solve the issue...

Turns out it wasn't me at all, but the way Steam had their switches configured. An IT person from Steam posted a Twitter thread explaining the issue, it took months for them to track the problem down too.

Except you wouldn't get a ban for that? It's based off a ratio of matches completed to matches left. Unless you're having connection issues, and decide to keep trying to play with your connection issues, you won't get a timeout/ban.

Honestly, if people don't have the mental fortitude to play out a match of trials because someone is tbagging... Please just stick to strikes. You're actively ruining other peoples matches because you can't mentally handle someone crouching over your in-game character lol. The whole, "I have better things to do than this" mentality is so selfish and trashy that it alone should warrant barring you for the entire weekend until you get your mental game fixed.

As for cheaters? I've ran into 1 so far since BE was implemented, and I could only tell because he dropped heavy ammo first round. Sure, I could just be lucky, but I don't think the cheater issue is as bad as it was before.
