Why are there no hand cannons to farm?

Super confused why every weapon type is in the umbral engrams but there are no hand cannons? I can't find a single hand cannon to farm that goes to 1360

Yes but silly Bungie doesn't allow weapon mods for overload or unstoppable on exotics and i want to use hand cannons. Eriana's vow does work to some extent but i don't enjoy the gun plus its special ammo.

Dire promise is a good HC to farm. Not sure if it drops from Umbral Engrams though.

yeah i know, its dumb that you cant put mods on exotics, if only that were possible then it wouldnt be such a pain..

Well you got rose, which is one of the fewer non exotic hand cannons people use
Altough im not sure if that weapon scale further than 1060...

You can't farm it tho that's the issue, i do not count wasting 3000 legendary shards and not even having one drop as farming.

You can't farm them from Umbrals, but you can get Old Fashioned, Dire Promise, and True Prophecy this season. The only thing is they have a cap of 1310, but they'll be good for a couple more seasons.

Edit: I forgot, the Ikelos hand cannon drops from Prophecy, it goes up to 1360 if you want to go for it.

What? You can easily farm that gun it can drop from the gunsmith, shaxx, and zavala. It also drops pretty often in pvp. Dire isn't being sunset so don't worry you'll have plenty of time to grab it.

In the past say 150 hours of playing the game , mostly pvp with a good bit of random bounty farming and engram grinding i have had 1 dire promise drop and the roll was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad, auto loading holster and under pressure were my two perks. And a reload masterwork i have never dismantled something so fast in all of my life.

I have a PVP god roll old fashioned but i would prefer something with some good pve perks in the hand cannon slot and also 140's feel pretty sluggish after using so many 150's

No thanks i have read the quest steps for that and i will never use Lumina and with Rose being sunset in the future i would rather not do that stupid quest just to have the option of using a hand cannon.

That's just bad luck then I've probably had 15 or so drop with one being a good pvp roll (sureshot, snap, rangefinder, range MW). If you want alternatives there is Spare Rations which gets sunset but if all you do is quickplay then sunset has no relevance. There is also Rose and Old Fashioned.

Still seems a tad strange to have every weapon type and just forget about hand cannons completely.. i mean they even added the seasonal mod for hand cannons but then didn't include any hand cannons in the umbral engrams which seems crazy to me

You get Rose from the first or second step, and it will always be useful in Comp.
