Swords say imagine using 2 weapon slots to do less damage than a sword can. If you really want to get some weapon synergy going then withersword/oppressive darkness is significantly better than tractor/one two punch.

Swords do everything that shotguns do (with way higher DPS and no reloading) and have the added bonus of being able to nope a stomp attack because they give forward momentum plus other movement utility.

Shotguns are redundant in the current meta.

First in last out (slug shotgun) with auto loading and demolistionist is currently amazing for PvE, especially since they gave slug shotguns a huge buff in damage.

Shotguns in pve are only good for one two punch builds, bring a sword its more ammo efficient and does a lot more dps

PVE use Threat Level or Ikelos, both fun and have trench barrel. swords are pretty boring imo

swords are also insanely boring. plus, equipping a sword means you can't use Xeno, Anarchy etc there are way better, more versatile options for the powerslot

If you melee are the correct time you can bypass the stomp pushback. One Two Punch/Trench Barrel Shotguns w/ Liar's Handshake & top tree Arcstrider (Throw in a Pump action & Distribution mod)

Only if you haven't got a godroll falling guillotine, then yes. Otherwise no.. Slap on a well/or oppressive with falling guillotine and have fun melting bosses in seconds.

Sure, but you lose DPS through punching while a sword will just keep swinging. A sword will also outdamage that build significantly without the need for any mod investment.

Shotguns are just kinda trash right now.

Not saying swords aren't better. Falling Guillotine is one of the best weapons in the game right now. It's just it's more fun running around with 3 Shotguns.
