As the the range, you need to be pretty much point blank for it to kill you when you're the one casting it
To OP:
Slowva Bombs(top tree) actually tracks you around, so you actually need to run since jumping is kinda useless against it. OR you can try shooting it to make it explode mid flight, but at that point you probably already caught in its blast radius. But Nova Bombs in general have a really large blast radius, regardless of skill trees(Slowva or Vortex Nova)
Ah sorry I meant that I'm playing as a hunter, but dying from enemy warlocks who use Nova bomb even when they miss me completely.
Ok then I guess it just has an extremely large area of effect :(
The bomb was not tracking me, but an enemy near me who was running in another direction away from me. In my experience jumping is faster to get away from something than running when I use 100 mobility combined with stompees. When I jump as my hunter (not the triple jump tho), I even move faster than the warlock blink ability can teleport, haha.
I almost never use novabomb myself as I rarely play with void warlock (I prefer solar warlock).
If its slowvabomb (the one you can see slowly tracking towards its target) it has a fairly big explosion radius but also sends out little tracking bombs upon impact that can do damage too. Best thing to do if you see one is keep running and try to break line of sight as much as you can, sometimes that will save you. Locks can die from thier own novabomb too, so most of the time there will be a bit of range when you see one, unless its a panic cast at point blank, then you're definately toast, lol.
I main warlock most of the time, with almost equal amount of time for each subclasses and I still wonder how big the blast radius actually is :p
This is just by my experience, its is not fact.
Yeah there is, throw the bomb at the floor and you will see a faint void glow around it. That radius is the initial explosion radius.
Factor in poor networking and bad connections and it's not at all difficult to explain.
