Range/area of effect of Nova Bomb
Just wondering, what is the range of Nova Bomb? Even when I am miles away from it when it explosides, I still die. I play max mobility with stompees, so when I jump I basically launch myself to the other side of the map.

Do I die because of lag? Or does Nova Bomb just have an insane area of effect?

Hmm, not sure how you're using stompees on a warlock

As the the range, you need to be pretty much point blank for it to kill you when you're the one casting it
I'm guessing he is talking from the receiving end of the Bomb as a hunter

To OP:
Slowva Bombs(top tree) actually tracks you around, so you actually need to run since jumping is kinda useless against it. OR you can try shooting it to make it explode mid flight, but at that point you probably already caught in its blast radius. But Nova Bombs in general have a really large blast radius, regardless of skill trees(Slowva or Vortex Nova)

Novabomb top tree is quite huge blast radius, also the explosion sends small void missiles after you aswell.

Ah sorry I meant that I'm playing as a hunter, but dying from enemy warlocks who use Nova bomb even when they miss me completely.

Ok then I guess it just has an extremely large area of effect :(

The bomb was not tracking me, but an enemy near me who was running in another direction away from me. In my experience jumping is faster to get away from something than running when I use 100 mobility combined with stompees. When I jump as my hunter (not the triple jump tho), I even move faster than the warlock blink ability can teleport, haha.

I almost never use novabomb myself as I rarely play with void warlock (I prefer solar warlock).

ahh okay sorry i misread.

If its slowvabomb (the one you can see slowly tracking towards its target) it has a fairly big explosion radius but also sends out little tracking bombs upon impact that can do damage too. Best thing to do if you see one is keep running and try to break line of sight as much as you can, sometimes that will save you. Locks can die from thier own novabomb too, so most of the time there will be a bit of range when you see one, unless its a panic cast at point blank, then you're definately toast, lol.

Yeah it was pretty slow, and I thought I was fine when it exploded as I wasn't close anymore. Then, it might have been one of those smaller trackers that got me.

Looking at this thread makes me realize that Nova Bomb's blast radius is never really clearly indicated, as in there is no some sort of a clear 'dome-aoe-effects' when it explode.

I main warlock most of the time, with almost equal amount of time for each subclasses and I still wonder how big the blast radius actually is :p

The bomb its self seems to have a overall hitbox of like 1.5x its size by visual aspect imo, and the trackers from the right skill tree seem to dissapear after about 3 to 4 seconds it feels.

This is just by my experience, its is not fact.

Yeah there is, throw the bomb at the floor and you will see a faint void glow around it. That radius is the initial explosion radius.

Factor in poor networking and bad connections and it's not at all difficult to explain.

Hmm, maybe they can add a visual indicator that represents the area of effect of the bomb. Some other supers have this as well.
