Destiny's (PC) PvP is the worst of any game I've ever played, ever.
I'm sure you're already all aware of the why so I'll just do the shorthand version.

- Zero balancing between classes

- Oneshot non-Power weapons make most other weapon types pointless

- Removal of skill based matchmaking so most games are onesided stomps

- Re/spawning is so bad you can be force spawned in the same exact spot all game or spawn in front of people

- Inbuilt Aim assist that stacks with controller aim assist (LOL)

- Premades/Clans going against solo players over and over and over

- New Light players are thrown into the mix with DLC/Season Pass owners with powercrept gear so just end up cannonfodder

- Whatever the hell Light enabled PvP is meant to achieve on top of all the above

And then there's just... the fact it isn't even fun. Grab bounties, suffer for a while, leave. I honestly feel sorry for those addicted enough to live in there, what a miserable time. Though I guess plenty of people deserve it given the absurd crouch-humping/bouncing I see midcombat all the time (Crouch on scrollwheel maybe?). Effective or not it doesn't look any less stupid.

Bungie ever plan to do anything about PvP, it's kind of "I hope this game fails" levels of bad right now. If anything it actively DISCOURAGES me from spending any money on the game.

Also to add, I just played an iron banner match against 2 clans (a 4 stack and a 2 stack) and they were all from EEU and ASIA, laggy af. All 5 of my teammates had negative K/Ds and barely knew how to play the game.

CBMM is the worst thing they could've done to this game and it is now impossible to solo queue anymore.

Edit: I am WUS.
Edit2: Looking back at the footage it looked like one of the players was walling as well. That literally checks off your entire list in 1 match lmaooo

This game was never meant to have PvP, but Activision demanded it for some reason. PvP will never work in this game

Don't play PvP for the gameplay

play it for the memes

I just do it for the weekly rewards, and then don't touch it for the rest of the week.

Like all these guys said ^
Stop punishing yourself by taking pvp in d2 seriously.
At the end of the day Destiny pvp is just a tag-on mode that was never supposed to last for more than a few months, so the game mode is from the ground up poorly designed. It has all the elements of a 5-min fun shooter: proximity radar, crazy aim assist, ability and super spam, 3-lane maps, cheap p2p connection, but at the same time, it has a very high headshot multiplier and crazy movements that set the skill gap between players very high. Sniper rifles can get headshots as long as it was close enough, every shotgun is as powerful as the Spas-12 in MW2 but if you are on the receiving end the non-headshot TTK of primaries is more than twice even tripple that of other FPS.

It also doesn't help that D2 is a F2P FPS which is like an open invitation for cheaters. Developers cannot ban them because they want as many players as possible for the game to remain profitable.

Despite what the PvP fans will say, PvP in destiny was just stuck on because Activision wanted it. Bungie have stuck with it ever since and barely even changed anything. Its just a mode where you go in and just piss about and have fun, stop taking it serious, you're just going to piss yourself off.

Well, you are forced to play this crap...

They could just easily fix PVP by removing completely the use of PVE inventory and allow you to make your own "setup" based on choices given which would be just a few, as much as it's fun to run around with thorn it's really unbalanced with how the META stuff works in this game, don't have a specific weapon? tough ♥♥♥♥.

I'd really take a balanced "class-based" everyone has the same gear with minor customization, it's not hard to do is it either? Or atleast try.

To be completely honest, I don't see many issues with PVP. I started playing it almost immediately after I downloaded the game. I wasn't particularly amazing at it, however, I wanted to get better so I kept at it. I don't see why people complain about it being awful and unbalanced if they simply give up after they get beaten by someone better. If they wish to find it fun, keep at it and get better.

Thats not why people give up man, totally missing the point here and what OP said.

There is little to no balance, takes months for things to get tweaked. Server stability and networking is downright outdated. Cheaters are common place and there is no and im going to put this in caps now, NO SKILL BASED MATCH MAKING. In a game that has a competitive mode. Its a ♥♥♥♥ show man.

And before you say im just bad, maybe so but im above average in this game and in the top 5% in every other PvP game i've played, the difference with destiny? I just don't care for learning the PvP when its just piss poor.

I completely agree with server stability and networking being not particularly ideal. Although, I haven't seen any cheaters so far after a hundred hours of matchmaking or not any that I know of and in regard to no skill-based match making, I can see why it was done. Most likely due to not enough players to actually have a skill-based matchmaking system viable. On the other hand, by playing against those who are far better than I simply made me want to get better to be like them so I kept playing even though I was losing quite often in the beginning. Essentially, I see it as an incentive to improve rather than to quit PVP.

I don't really like it much either but hopped into a few matches the other day for some quests and there was literally a guy teleporting around killing people with a grenade launcher instantly at the start of each round kek

It's really not as bad as people are making it out to be. I was expecting much worse when I cross-saved my things over to here, but it's literally fine

My only main issue with PVP is the matchmaking decision a few months back.

Before that I could play, do reasonable well playing against SIMILAR players.

I tried a few times after the change, was slaughtered every game, so left it alone for about 5 or 6 weeks, no bounties, not even going into PVP.

Went in again as I wanted to get the Witherhoard cat and it requires GL kills, so knew my numbers were going to be appalling as GL kills are far harder than most due to them being the worst weapon type for accuracy in the game.

What I found was just a damn shame, even in control I was getting perhaps 50% mercied games and I think only one or two games were close, even contests, most were either 2 or 3 players totally dominating, 30+ kills where no-one else got even close to that, or massively unbalanced team games where one team would have 3 guys with 28-35 kills, the other team would have no-one with even 16.

The balance is all wrong, the lag is still there, the cheating, though not as bad as some people think, is still there.
