Side with the Drifter. You'll become the closest thing to a friend he's had in a long while. Also it's rather obvious he's important to the current story line and will be continuing on for at least another season or two after the expansion.
Or don't, cause it doesn't really matter who you side with, nothing changes. He just won't be a friendly when you talk to him.
Hunter is MOST LIKELY to pick Gambit.
Everyone else Vanguard.
Drifter: Is a con artist (Rat as eris calls him)
Vanguard: done well for us thus far. and no reason NOT to trust them.
but the Darkness as it spoke to us has said the Traveller is not as benevolent as it seems.
The path you pick will affect your character down the road somehow, no one knows.
my pick, The Vanguard.. but my hunter is a POS so I made that one Drifter.
She doesn't even have hair lmao.
And it was worth it.
Not to spoil too much, but she's basically a cross between Judge Dredd and Captain Falcon.
lol
Second character will be drifter tho
Now I will say that I didn't like choosing him, I rather like the Vanguard for what they stand for in theory however in practice they do nothing but send the player character to do everything. However I like many of the side characters, Saint-14 being one of my favorites. I kind of wanted a middle ground, I just want to help everyone because why do I need to pick a side? That makes no real sense, I get that for Drifter it's more of a trust thing, can you be trusted to dump everything and run when the 3 collapse is upon us. Drifter seems genuinely effected by his many, many lives for the past several thousand years, he seems to know more about the past then the rest of the Vanguard at least on a personal level. Drifter suggests that you trade your short range jump ship for a long haul freighter of some kind, he's not out to kill or hurt you and he seems fairly honest people just don't like when you tell them the truth. That's how people are in reality, the hard truth or the comfortable lie, people will almost always pick the comfortable lie.
In the end this will never pan out, when did they release this quest line? Several years ago? If Bungie was going to actually make it meaningful then they should have done it when the iron was hot not when everyone has forgotten Gambit and just hated it. (rightfully so in my opinion). Even if something does happen I don’t feel like Bungie is good enough to make it impactful, it’ll be a pointless cutscene or some text scroll and be very impersonal and not impactful.
