(Only works on PC) I'm using Japanese as an example here, but you can use whatever supported language you want.



Step 1 : Change the game language to Japanese in your steam library to download the Japanese files.

Step 2 : Go to your Destiny 2 folder, in packages and search for 'JPN' and copy those files into a new folder on your desktop. (Create backups just in case)

Step 3 : Rename the part of the name that says jpn into en for EVERY file you copied. For example, w64_audio_01d2_jpn_0 you will rename to w64_audio_01d2_en_0

Step 4 : Change the language back to English in your steam library

Step 5 : Copy and paste your renamed jpn files that are now named with an en tag into packages and replace the files with the renamed ones (should be able to click replace files when copying the files over)

Step 6 : Load up the game and turn subtitles on and you are done!

If you did it wrong it wont let you get past the loading screen. To instantly fix this repair the game files in your steam library, or replace the files with the corresponding backup.



Also, Bungie, can you just add an option where we can choose the subtitles and audio languages separately in the settings!

Edit (Important!): After installing the new update (Oct 15th), I had to do these steps again as the game wouldn't load up.
