Are all the players just bots?

I can't explain why literally nobody has answered me on ingame chat so far when playing strikes or just casually exploring maps without being in a party. Been constantly trying to get into some group that doesn't just dissolve after a strike, most likely even during the run just because they died or whatever. Tried all the chats, from local over team to fireteam. Am I doing anything wrong? (I just hope not, otherwise I'm really getting old lol)

I wish they would do local chat as in per planet and not per instance. You are always in an instance with 4-5 people so you rely only on them to answer.
In Strikes many people don't care, they just rush through as fast as they can, because they did this Strike for 500th time already.
It doesn't help at all that you need to opt in for local chat first...
What I don't understand is the tower, is a big instance with so many people and nobody says anything. In my 350h playtime I saw someone else saying something in chat like 3-4 times.

I've never seen a game with such a dead chat, both text and voice. So much for better communication on PC...
