Is there actually a point to masterworking armor?
Masterworking guns are one thing, because it usually gives you either a unique perk, or the ability to generate useful orbs when killing multiples, but what does masterworking armor do besides a extremely miniscule stat bump?

If the answer is nothing then I dont see a reason to care about maxxing armor at all as long as you can fit whatever mods you wanna use in the armor piece.

the border looks cool

Each masterworked armor gives +2 points to each stat (mobility, resilience etc.). So if you masterwork all your armor you get +10 points to each stat.

It gives you +2 to all your stat s on the armor, adding a total of 12 points.

+12 to the stats and you need all 10 energy to make crazy builds.

What he said. Also you can flex on others by showing that you have put in the hard work to masterwork your armor. It also just looks really freakin cool.

So nothing then, no point to maxxing armor besides an extremely small stat buff and a golden border, nice to know I dont need to grind mats.

Lol I guess you didn't get it. You absolutely should master work armor. If you want to be able to mount two great mods on your armor. Or a legendary mod and two base mods you have to have the ten slots given by masterworked armor. The stat buff on its own is good. But what makes masterworking armor so good is that it allow you to run to 5 power mods at once on the same peice of armor.
So to Clarify masterworking armor is an absolute must if you want to truly complete a specialized build to make your armor work the way you want it to.

I havent had any problems with energy capacity so far, so idk what you're talking about honestly.

Good luck with your strat. When you start running into a wall against harder content because you dont have a maxed out stat you'll maybe understand why we masterwork our armor. But who knows maybe your strat will work just fine for you.

when you get deeper into making builds and min-maxing energy capacity becomes a lot more important

You masterwork certain pieces to bring your stats to full 10's. If you have, say, a few stats like 48, 59, 78, if you masterwork the +2 points will bring those three up to the next level of stat bonus.

I feel like the game needs better rewards and better progression, armor just feels really un-unique right now, weapons are kinda cool but even those have been shown to be largely the same with most of the perks either just boosting its DPS or reload speed or something, not actually changing the way you play with the weapon.

IMO master working armor is more important then master working weapons.

If you master work every item you have, thats a 10+ states in every singe attribute. Thats super important.

Armor is unique. Not in the way it looks but how you shape a playstyle with it. A gun is a gun. You can switch it out when ever. How ever, it is with armor where you craft a playstyle that is truly you. For example. I love being agressive with my dawn blade warlock all the while raining rockets form above. Because of that I have masterworked and set up my gear so that I always have my melee abillity ready and I always have power amo and shotty amo. This is my playstyle. It is unique to me and the way I play the game. Sure I switch my guns out but my armor never changes. This is why you should master work your armor. because ass you said guns don't feel unique. How ever when you find that set off armor that just looks so damn good on you and you find the perfect ornaments and shaders and then you masterwork it you will understand that armor isn't boring. Its what makes you stand out form every one else. Dont believe me ? Go to the tower. Inspect every ones charcaters. Sure many will run the same gun here or there. But I promise you all of there armor layouts will be differrent. Trust me armor is truly unique and its why you should definetly masterwork a set when you find the armor combo that speaks to you most.
