High ping

So i've returned back to the game and i've noticed lots of lagg spikes even on pve.
Ping is around 200 via the resource monitor.
This wasn't an issue a year ago, any ideas what's going on?

Multiple people have had this issue occurring as of the start of this season; sadly there is no fix as of now. Bungie will hopefully address the issue by next week's reset, or at the latest, the start of next season. Check for more details and updates Here. [www.bungie.net]

From what my friends and others have experience you might have to reinstall the game to fix it.

D2 uses a P2P system that relies on a constant, good connection.

At the start of this year D2 implemented an anti-Ddos service thru steam to cut down on the PvP Ddos'ing.
Unfortunately, this service causes extra hops for connections, traffic bottlenecking, and packet loss..(Season of the Beaver).. Also internet load is at all time highs because of CV..all bad for P2P games

The fix for this is to use the Steam Beta Client, It changes how P2P connections are handled reducing disconnects, packet loss and lag spikes.
( It won't stop them all due to interwebs traffic, but it does cut them waaay down. I went from having disconnect every 10 min to 1 or 2 in a 5 hr game.)

To enable SBC:
Top right of steam client, Click Steam~>Settings~>Account~>Beta participation
