second: distance matters. If your gun has 20/100 distance, you should really get close to deal 100% damage. My pistol in the second slot wouldn't do ♥♥♥♥ to a guy 10m away from me, yet in a close distance it would kill anyone unless he punches me with his hand to death through the shield.
third: realise you're bad at shooters. CS is no longer any "quality-shooting-stuff" like it was with 1.6 version. You've many more shooters, many more engines for them etc etc. The game isn't about hitting heads at all, since everything is moving too fast even I'd be surprised seeing you hit heads in any situation. Especially in the chaos of the game where you have little Thors running around with a staff.
one more bonus tip: take some time to really "get the game". It is RPG, MMO, not a stupid shooter. If you want to make the difference you should at least memorize the ulties of your opponents or at least yours. Press I and hover above everything, read&learn until you decide whether you want or do not waste your time here.
Plus, anybody who still calls their characters in a game a 'toon' is probably out of their element in general lol
Choose control. Pick a gun you like. Hardlight is good starter weapon (keep an eye on Xur for it). Get an exotic like foe tracer, which can help you keep an eye on the map. Profit.
Don't sweat it too much. PvP is a bit daft. Especially supers.
QFT, skill still wins matches. Have seen folks dominating with "off meta" weapons pretty regularly, outside of the odd (100+ match) all-blue char with 10+ KD/A.
That said, knowing how to set up your armor and the meta weapons -- for the average pvper like myself -- allows you to not feel like absolute fodder.
Use 150 rpm handcannon - 3 tap to the head, close/midle rande 68dmg. Agresive frame shotgun - close range 1 shot. Pulse rifle 390, 540 rpm, midle/far range. 2-3 birst to the head. don't rush, play save/ Learn the maps, use radar. U'll need some time to learn. Myself LEM on cs-go. took me couple of weeks to lern pvp in destiny. GLHF

They were using a handcannon at optimal range, and probably had the rampage perk active, which lets you two-tap opponents. Destiny 2 PvP is all about managing your TTK at any given time. What this translate to is:
Also, yes, sorry, but unless you want to be at the mercy of Bungie's SBMM (which can fail miserably quite often), you're going to have to learn the meta, which will probably means tens if not hundreds of hours of grinding. Stick to control or the rotating list until you get the hang of things. Avoid quickplay unless you plan on shadowing a better player to learn their playstyle for now. Good luck if you decide to stick around, and be prepared to die a lot.
