Gambit Prime - finding the High Value Target - hints/tips

I don't remember ever having this problem before but recently I have been having trouble locating the high value target even when it is announced that it "has been spotted". More than one I run laps around the whole map trying to find it with no luck.

If you have any useful info on how to locate it quickly... please share them.

Please also resist the urge to litter this thread with smartarse remarks like "open your eyes" or "just look". I would like for this thread to become a useful reference not just for me but also for others.

It benefits to find out the regular spawns for high value targets and check them each time the drifter says there's a high value target.

I think they typically spawn in the areas that will soon have enemies or already had enemies.
