How to disable "Searching for Guardians"?
So I'm trying out this game and I want to play solo, but every time game tries to give me randos.
How do I disable it? I already set my striketeam to closed, but it still throws me people, I can't start the mission alone.
What do?

They took an odd stand on it.

For activities you could probably solo, you are forced into matchmaking.

For activities you'd have more difficulty soloing, you have to set up a team using 3rd party methods like fireteam finder or discord in order to not solo them.

I want to see how you try to beat a Raid with a matchmaking group.

Not odd at all, easy content is meant to show off your RNG loot from endgame, and endgame content is meant to incentivize players to find friends to pay into the system in order to show off that RNG loot.
By that thinking, you should always be put into a fireteam for every lost sector and planetary trip.

The simple fact is that most people would be perfectly happy running playlist strikes solo so they could easily blow through vanguard bounties and be done with their weekly challenges fast instead of having to compete against 2 other people to nail enough instantly dead trash to complete bounties or run a higher difficulty non-matchmade version which also slows it down.

Honestly, putting legend difficulty ordeals into matchmaking wouldn't cause much of an issue. They're barely harder than hero difficulty and actually have a much more forgiving point structure for achieving the weekly score challenge.

It's fairly clear that the majority of the decisions made as to what is and is not a matchmade activity are based entirely on lengthening the process for completing repetitive tasks like this. It's an artificial inflation of play time, nothing more and nothing less.

If every activity had the option to join a random team or solo based on preference, it wouldn't affect people that like it the way it is at all. You could still set up a premade team for the activities you want to set them up for and also still run with random teams for the activities you want to do that for.

So would I. Until that option is available, I'll just skip dealing with it.

I can only recommend you to try to get a group through LFG or through a clan. Just mention that you've never done a Raid, and you will get people who are willing to teach you what to do.

When i used to farm the old 920 ordeal until i passed out, 95% of my games i had to carry by bringing the 2 elements needed against champions. Adding mm to legend level would see a lot of players joining, checking what gear the others have then just leave the match because "i wont use anti-barrier because its not fun", "i wont carry 2 other people, they dont even have anti-barrier" etc.
