But...I play one...for about 99% of the time.. ;P
It essentially gives you "another go" when doing raids and such, and also allows you to obtain mission rewards again, should you do certain things such as complete a campaign. (For example, you used to be able to get Eververse engrams for completing campaigns like Warmind + Osiris, though I'm not entirely sure if that reward system has been changed).
It isn't abnormal imo, some people prefer to stay as a single class all together. Though having three different characters makes collecting exotics more convenient in the long run.
I, and a lot of tothers say the same about Titans...and then there are all the Hunter mains.
I have 3 on PC, one on Xbox One, and on Destiny 1 - 3
