To me it sounds like Destiny isn't the problem. What other games have you run on the 580? I had an RX 580 that was overheating on GPU intensive games. Racing sims typically are gpu heavy but can also be cpu heavy instead.

If possible, paste MSI after burner numbers for the faulty card. Keep an eye on the gpu temps. Then run Afterburner while doing the heaven benchmark.

That will depict if your card is faulty as that benchmark is solely gpu heavy.

i allready said i run VR raceing sims..all of them all day long an no problems

It's your setup is the problem not the game try cleaning out your computer get them dust bunnies out of your graphics card heat sinks.. make sure you have good airflow through your case proper setup on airflow. Make sure your fans are working properly. Make sure that your computer ain't stuffed in a tight space or shoved in some hot cabinet where it cannot breathe. Just because you didn't overheat in other games does it mean you will not overheat in this one this game maybe putting more of a demand on your graphics card harder than the normal games you normally play

yea, i have absolutely no issues running any other games in my library in high or even ultra settings, except for this

While Destiny 2 doesn't cause my card to overheat, it does sit proudly on the nr 1 spot for highest temperatures reached on both the GPU and CPU.

Take the racing simulator you brought up earlier it only really stresses your graphics card it does not stress your processor much now you play Destiny 2 it is putting high stress on both of your processor and graphics card at the same time which is dumping more heat into your system which is causing your system to overheat.

fix the problem with your system not being able to take the added heat from both the processor and the graphics card..

Ehhh, that isd engine related. Most racing sims arnt even that gpu heavy, perhaps if you are running 3 screen setup, sure, but this doesnt make sence.

You mention VR btw... but then you have the default VR stuff to deal with. project cars 2 aint GPU heavy at all.

Do you have a blower style cooler on that 580? My wife's PC has a dual fan RX 580, no heat issues, my old PC has an RX 480 Ref, no heating issues (but it's clean and I am not afraid of RPM/fan noise)

It really sounds like one of the following.
The GPU cooler is dirty so unable to get proper air flow.
The fan/s is/are defective
You are overly sensitive to fan noise and keep the fan/s too low to perform properly.

Racing games are light duty for GPUs as are some VR games.

The 580 rx itselff, isnt that great of a card. It will run d2 yes, but if you're looking for vr you need look further then 580 rx

But honestly if you want my recommen at least a 5700xt or gtx 2070 super

+ doesnt the 580 forcecap your fps at 45 anyway?
