Read "What content isn't included in Destiny 2 New Light? "
Of the expansions Forsaken is a very solid choice for its price(even more so when its on sale)
Shadowkeep.....is meh but it does come with ONE free season pass
A lot of people like forsaken though because of the lore and exotic quests.
Just waiting till the bundle is discounted and getting them both is a good idea if you can't decide.
The Leviathan Raid, and Eater of Worlds/Spire of Stars Raid Lairs.
Curse of Osiris DLC, which has Mercury quests, Lost Prophecies, strikes etc.
Rise of the Warmind, which has Mars quests, Escalation Protocol, strikes etc.
Then it has the Open World exploration of the Tangled Shore, Dreaming City and the Moon. However, the questlines for these three zones, as well as Raids and other things (such as Strikes and DLC activities like Nightmare Hunts) are part of their DLCs only (Forsaken and Shadowkeep) which must be bought separately.
Forsaken and Shadowkeep also both contain a Dungeon (like a 3-person mini-raid but a bit easier).
There are also other Seasonal Activites:
- Black Armory (Forsaken) and Scourge of the Past Raid
- Menagerie (Forsaken) and Crown of Sorrows Raid
- Season of the Worthy: Warmind Bunkers/Almighty stuff (Shadowkeep comes with one Season Pass, so purchasing it now would net you the Season of the Worthy SP which has about a month left I think).
These contain unique game modes with their own weapons, armours and other gear to unlock.
Black Armory and Menagerie are free to play, but their associated Raids and Exotic Weapons can't be obtained without buying Forsaken.
Expansion Exotics are as follows:
- Wish Ender
- 1000 Voices
- The Last Word
- Thorn
- Lumina
- Ace of Spades
- Izanagi's Burden
- Jotunn
- Le Monarque
- Anarchy
- Truth
- Bad Juju (? is this available now?)
- Deathbringer
- Xenophage
- Divinity
Season Pass Exotics:
- Tommy's Matchbook
- The Fourth Horseman
I'm not sure about previous season Exotic quests, someone else will need to confirm.
Leviathan's Breath was season of Undying I think and it's F2P now.
