Actually though, there is so much voice work in that strike and it's almost all hilariously terrible.
I've shared this theory here once before, this made me consider that the uniquely bad voice acting for this strike might be intentional, and made the strike a little better in my mind: Taeko and the other guardians who contact you on comms, aren't guardians at all. They've all been dead for quite some time, and Savathun is using their voices to lure us into her lair, probably cause most guardians can't resist trying to help other guardians in danger. It just sounds weird cause Savathun hasn't quite nailed impersonating human voices yet.

This is supported by multiple things: Savathun is a cunning hive god, probably the cleverest villain we've come across in this universe, and she's tried to trick us again and again. The guardians are talking as if they're fighting off hive right in front of us, just away from view, but when we advance, there are no bodies of guardians, ghosts or hive, and the hive are all patiently waiting in ambush. And of course, the name of the strike: Savathun's Song, reminiscent of a Siren's song, that lures unsuspecting sailors to their graves.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
Now thats some deep conspiracy theory right there,
However, I dont think they're that smart,
I mean, they literaly put the last crystal in the boss room to kill himself,
and that just super dumb lol

You were expecting the guardian to rescue would be Takeo-3 but instead it was I, SAVATHUN

"These are all guardians"

"Whats that? I can't hear you over the sound of me shooting these crystals"

"Hey these crystals give me an idea"

"Hey takeo I got an idea listen to me, we use the crystals to destroy the crystals

Random, dispassionate, fair to good and lame guardians alike"

"Good plan but there aren't any crystals down here, wait change of plan we go with your plan.
"I thought you said there were no crystals there"
"Not yet"
"Yeets herself off the map"

It also makes sense as they managed to lose NINE guardians in only the course of what, 4 hours?

That entire strike is dumb anyway. Gameplay wise ok, dialogue wise absolutey horrible. Not to forget that i hate shriekers.

This

This has actually improved the strike for me, just a teeeny tiny little bit

"Stop you've already taken my ghost!"
"That crystal it's void light, only guardians have access to void light. I can't understand how the hive got their claws on it"

She sacrificed herself, you did not die in vain

We did it, but we couldn't have done it without takeo and the others. Come on we better get back to command zavala and sloane need to hear about this
My favourite is when you kill the boss faster than it could get to the crystal phase but you still get those voice lines. Like no ghost, she completely died in vain.

Too much Savathun's Song?
I started playing very late into the season but set out to get the Undying title and realized almost too late that the vanguard emblem quest had a 2nd and 3rd part to it... let's just say that this Ordeal's voice lines are engraved into my skull at this point.

Better turn back than [static (but it's clearly audible "to be consumed by the Hive")]

The entire mission is an insane failure at every single level

Guardians are very, very, limited in supply. The traveler has not made many ghosts and the number of guardians has been drastically lowered due to so many battles and wars

Sloane idiotically decides if one immortal 4 man fire team died, she would just keep sending in more until there was none left

The Hive are limitless, there are constantly more of them and there will always be more shriekers. Those nine guardians are gone for good, the Guardian population is now dramatically smaller then it was. The Hive lost one shrieker that was only immortal in it's lair and we lost 9 guardians

How the heck did Ghost think this was a win, or Takeo for that matter

Exactly, and not to mention, those so-called guardians supposedly died during a mission that can be completed by a single one of us people and is an utter piece of cake with a team of three. Makes you wonder what weapons and powers they brought to the fight... And how the hive defeated them. I mean, draining the light out of someone's body and turning them into crystals ? If they really can do such a thing, why is it that they never, ever, attempt it on us ?

I definitely support the "siren's song" theory.

They're trying to summon savathun using the crystal,
one of the trio hive gods along with Oryx and Xivu Arath.
Overall the strike was dumb, too many plot holes, I love the music tho.
