For anyone chasing amhamkara bones, this reset coming up will be a chance to get 3.
Without using a guide, the only clue you get is a notification about the seams of reality growing weaker, something like that. That's how you know you're in the vicinity and should use a Tincture to find it.
I mean there is a website for Xur location each week, why not this? Someone needs to do it.
Here's the rotation thru February.
Handle Handy little chart that shows what and where, as well as the weekly mission availability. Disregard Shattered Throne availability since it's not a mechanic anymore.
This week (which ends in a few hours) said something like "Starlight Starbright..." and google told it was week 6.
Then I looked at the guides that go by week.
BTW... as far as I could tell from the guide's the week 6 quest is also the hardest. Easier from the jumping perspective but it has knights chasing you as you try to get it done, plus the "guiding light mote" isn't very visible so you can easily end up down the wrong path. The only way I got it done was because a clanmate happened to know the map by heart and guided me through it.
It's rough with the quantity of crap shooting at you and all the boopers throughout. I still hate the one where you have to jump to the little island with the crouching knights, fight them and all the adds, grab a sword and jump all the way back, in the dark, with rotating platforms and debris.
Oh, and good luck finding the second egg in there without a guide.
I swear, doing the time trial for that one shaved years off my life.
- Parkour required to get up to the portal,
- Random start points,
- Super tight time allowance (some others were quite generous!),
- Dying may respawn you a good way back into Harbinger's Seclude, respawning all the enemies ahead of you.
- Challenge doesn't complete until you exit, unlike others that count as finished when you open the chest or kill a boss. So if you complete it and the time trial doesn't pop, you have to get the portal to respawn.
I used Ward of Dawn before I grabbed the sword, to get the knight phase done as fast as I could.
On the plus side, with all the time trials, eggs and bones done, I never even have to think about doing an Ascendant Challenge again!
This was exactly my problem as well, I wonder if you saw the same video guide I did. Ended up using two tinctures on it because I was really bad at getting to the portal. Now for the second act twist that I learned well after the fact:
There are actually REALLY convenient platforms that spawn in the previous room when you're ascendant on the right hand side of the path towards the portal spire that start by winding back towards the way you came, but eventually work their way up and around directly to the portal. Yeah. I wasn't mad[i.redd.it] at finding that out, not a bit.
OK but what bounty? Daily bounties? I don't play in dreaming city at all. It just makes my head dizzy for some reason. It's all to get the Truth.
Oops! Yes I was aware of the regular path starting from the right, and that reminds me of something else I hated about that challenge, even the eggs seemed to be in the most obnoxious of places. But what the vids (which get you to scramble up onto the domed roofing, and do giant leaps into the unknown) didn't say is that even those eggs have convenient platforms leading up to them, if you know where to look. I only found that out after I'd got them, and I was still on a high from finishing the time trial so I wasn't quite as annoyed.
