but most have a quest tied to them

suros regime catalyst has a chance to drop if you get a gold medal, like annihilation, ghost in the night, etc
your best chance to get it is go into comp and try get an annihilation medal

Suros Regime catalyst it seems to be drop on crucible,try to move your mouse on empty catalyst slot,it will tell you where to find it.

I've done around 200 crucible match in this acc, still no Suros catalyst.
Meanwhile, my old acc took only 20 ish crucible match to get it, but im doing it with my clan.

Grind for catalyst is much faster with your clan, it increase drop chance.

I was under the impression that suros was super common, when it was released me and most of my clan got it in the next 4-5 cruci matches we played.

In the end it is RNG, the suros catalyst may have just had a really high droprate for a while after release just to get people using it or something, the cerb +1 catalyst was similar where loads of people got it just killing stuff on the moon so who knows.

Have you tried grind with your clan?
I got all cat on my old acc, took me 15~50ish max try per cata, probably bc of the clan perks.
But yeah as Floppy said, there's some speculation going on which said it is easier to get cata in week after its release, I was always do cata hunt shortly after its release so maybe its true.
But in the end its all RNG so who knows.
