Destiny is better than Halo. Fight me!
With Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam, and Destiny 2's release in October, the age-old debate of which is better can now commence.

Everybody knows that Destiny is the superior game due to the fact that it's free, has a great and original story, and awesome weapons, locations, environments and more. Destiny also encourages aiming downsight to stabilize your fire, which is something that Halo doesn't have the competence to incorporate. Destiny is also developed by Bungie who lost hope with their dumpster-fire excuse of a game Halo and just handed it to 343 and made their own game, Destiny.

Halo is insanely boring, it's all the same environments, the weapons are all just your typical shotgun, AR, and energy weapon archetypes with no variety in design or functionality. Halo also relies on an engine that's almost 20 years old to handle it's very demanding multiplayer framework, causing much lag and frequent framerate drops, even on Xbox One. Halo was such a failure that Bungie was nearing bankruptcy and sold the mess to 343. The only good thing about Halo is its soundtrack and voice acting, but even these are done better in Destiny.

Destiny doesn't have much plasma weapons...but does have better weapon variety, that's good. Worldbuilding is much better in halo, destiny is limited mostly to the solar system. Both are still great.

What are you talking about? Bungie wasn't nearing bankruptcy and they didn't sell the IP to 343. Bungie and the IP were owned by Microsoft from before CE was even released. This has to be bait lol.

Regarding the MP in Reach yes it's currently a pain in the arse, it takes ages to find matches and connect to them, i could probably play 2 rounds in the crucible while waiting for Reach to connect to a session.

What i don't like about Destiny though is that nothing is straight forward, want this or need that? Well you're going to need to go here, then there, then do this 300 times while balancing on your head, fisting yourself, juggling oranges, and balancing a football on your penis.

You're not completely wrong, but for the most part, I'd say Warframe is muuuch worse. Catalysts in D2 are ghaulawful though, that's true (especially Erika's Cow's, the devs went massively overboard with this one). And the quests which ask you to complete some stupid and ridiculously grindy PvP challenges, like the hunt for Last word or for Thorn, are the worst. Maybe.

The reason Destiny isn't so "straightforward" is because it requires a resourceful and independent player to figure it out. Games like Halo and CoD practically hold your hand and walk you through the whole game like a massive tutorial. Destiny is much more demanding when it comes to strategy and planning which is why Destiny's fanbase consists of older players.

That's not what i mean, sure give players goals and challenges but not monotonous stuff that just drags on and on and on like some of the quests i've seen.

Sure the quests take a long time. They require teamwork and help from your teammates which is absent in games like CoD or Halo.

uh no..... destiny is fun, but halo is just OG and the best. destiny IMO has too many things going on and too many enemies. and nothing of what you said is true

Which would work if online communities panned out like that, from what i've seen Destiny is no different than the gearscore and achievement obsessed WoW community where you need to do x to get gear but nobody wants anything to do with you unless you already have said gear and achievements.

That's because Destiny's a much more complex and intricate game. It requires more teamwork and strategic planning than Halo. Unlike Halo, Destiny encourages planning ahead, out-maneuvering, and selective elimination. Halo just gives you a rifle, an overpowered armor suit (basically tilting the odds in your favor and eliminating any chance of a challenge) and a rifle with a couple hundred rounds and makes you spray until the last enemy drops. No strategy or skill required. As I said earlier, Bungie abandoned Halo and perfected the formula to bring you Destiny.

Every community has its freeloaders. But the majority of Destiny players are helpful.

Well, Halo was never interesting enough to me to even want to play it at all. So, I agree.

Yeah it was the talk of the town back in like 2005 but that was before there were better games. After Bungie abandoned Halo, Destiny came along and basically overshadowed Halo.
