triumph the best offense
Is there any way to check my progress?
I can't find anywhere to look up triumphs on the vanguard page or anywhere else on my character.
The only thing I've got is the quest box that is unchecked.

Yes, on the Triumphs page, look at Vanguard, Strikes, General, and it's there, 'The Best Offense'. It tells you how many you have of the following,
Precision Final Blows X/1000
Orbs Generated X/500
Strikes and Nightfalls Completed X% (sorry not sure how much each strike/nightfall contributes).

Completing the triumph is what will give you that tick on the quest box.

BananaJane you get the quest/ordeal from Zavala in the tower.
I've read it can be done in about 4 hrs but I spent all day working on it and while I have the strikes/nightfalls I'm only about 2/3 of the way on precision shots and about 1/2 of the orbs.
When you get them all Zavala gives you a scout rifle oxygen sr3.
