3 gunsmith materials and 10 legendary shards? Seriously? That isn't even enough to buy another exotic at Xur. Why don't exotics give you a better reward when you dismantle them?

Because theyre as common as blues if you do 980 nightfalls, or as common as purples from 950s

But they are fairly cheap when reacquired from collections tab since you need legendary shards, and i am sure we all have plenty of those from dismantling useless roles on gear/weapons.
