Random drop catalyst

So I got Borealis today and really like it, so naturally I want to get the catalyst for it. It says that it will drop by simply defeating enemies of humanity, though I don't know if that means that I can kill enemies with any gun I want, as long as I have Borealis equipped, or if it can only drop from kills I make with Borealis.

Is there also a way to increase the drop chance?

just kill massive amounts of enemies with whatever method you like

Escalation Protocol and blind well should work reasonably well.

You could also just ignore it and it'll drop fast anyway. The "enemies of humanity" drop catalysts are the easiest and fastest to get in my experience. Every one of the exotics I've gotten with that catalyst drop type has dropped within 1 or 2 days of getting the exotic.
