Nintendo Switch PowerA Gamecube Controller Support?

Hi, I have https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/switch/accessories/controllers/products/nintendo-switch-wireless-gamecube-controller-gold/10164545.html this controller that I've been using to play games on my 64-bit Windows 10 computer running the latest updates with my bluetooth adapter.
It shows up as a 'Lic Pro Controller', it's a switch pro controller, so I have to play w/ switch pro controller support for most games, which is no problem.

But Destiny 2... For the life of me, I cannot get this game to support this controller. I used an xbox one controller a long time ago while playing this game on pc and it worked fine - I believe that my controller should be showing up as a generic xb360 controller due to steam controller settings - it works in other games that it doesn't work in when I launch them through steam - but it still seems that Destiny 2 isn't recognizing it at all. Whenever I go to change keybinds in settings, no inputs are recognized at all, but when I open the controller config. (shift+tab), inside of the steam big picture menu, my inputs are recognized perfectly with no issues... Any suggestions?
