How hard is the Leviathan raid?
Fairly new player here. Played it during the free giveaway on battle.net once, now regularly play for gear mainly menagerie and strike bounties. So I've heard it is extremely hard even with good squad. I don't have squad to try on so just asking here for honest opinion. Thinking of joining some random team in the future. Also are the raid loot good?

It isn't tedious unless your group are particularly bad IMO. As long as it feels like you're making progress towards beating an encounter and not just bashing your head against it repeatedly, it's fine. It's only painful when you manage to pick up "that guy" who refuses to listen and makes the same mistakes over and over and over again, causing your team to fail.

I'd recommend looking for an experienced sherpa to guide you through your first run, to give yourself a better chance of having a good time.

As for the loot, it really depends on your current loot situation. If you don't have much in the way of amazing weapons, then you'll find that there's some pretty good loot in the Leviathan raid. There are better options in most cases now, but they mostly depend on RNG to get good perks on, which the Leviathan weapons don't as they drop with the same perks every time.

Midnight coup is a great little hand cannon. It's 150 RPM with outlaw/rampage. Spare rations and jack queen king are basically the same thing, but a little better. Those require pretty heavy RNG to get good perk rolls on though...

Inaugural address is a decent void pulse rifle with outlaw/kill clip. I still use it every once in a while.

Raid armour in general tends to drop with pretty high stat numbers too.

Long (hours your first time), not hard.

Well, except for the jumping portion if you are jumping handicapped like me :) But people usually carry you through that section.

Of course, you should read a good guide before trying it, and look for a "Sherpa" run in the Destiny 2 PC LFG so that there will be someone teaching you.

I tried doing it solo once, before New Light and about 150 Power above what it needed. The main problem I had was the flood of enemies. I hadn't hit a Low-Light point yet, so I'd die, blow 5 seconds, then charge at it again. Eventually got bored since it didn't feel like I was making any real progress. :(

Leviathan is pretty easy as the raids go, but it's much harder than a lot of the other content in the game. The raids are mostly about communication and coordination, rather than the enemies being impossibly tanky or doing a lot damage. Most of the encounters require you to split your team of 6 up into smaller teams and feed information back and forth. It will be hard the first time, but once you get the hang of them the raids aren't too bad.

Even the entrance room before the first encounter is impossible with 1 player, lmao. It's a 6 player raid...

Jeez, 7 hours is a big yikes. I think my first run was about 4 hours when none of us knew what we were doing. It's usually about 45 minutes with an experienced team.

Oh, I knew it was a dumb idea before I even went into orbit; I really just wanted to see how far I could get by myself...plus I wanted to get that Pursuit out of my log. >_>

Damn that's insane. Is it worth it though for the loot?. I think I'll pass the raid for now until I somehow 'git gud' at the game LOL.

Thanks for the insight. I figured it will be tedious when watching the video about the raid. remind me of The Division 2 raid. Tedious as hell never again gonna play that raid again ever.

Inaugural address is a decent void pulse rifle with outlaw/kill clip. I still use it every once in a while.

Raid armour in general tends to drop with pretty high stat numbers too.

Thanks again for the reply. I guess I try learning the core Destiny 2 mechanic first. Still trying to grasp the mechanic, I never really learn anything during the first time playing it before and just stop halfway through the story. I'll look into Sherpa Destiny LFG sometime in the future.
