Has anyone else quit the game?

After I looked for an LFG for Black Garden Raid on discord, because I didn't have a banner and haven't cleared this Raid once "Being my first time" I was observed and then later kicked by fireteam leader. All knew well I was looking for first time help clearing and they persisted on being toxic later on then I just decided to leave the fireteam right before the leader tried to kick me. In frustration and agony; because I helped them a lot through the phases that needed clearing with ads, linking, etc, I just decided to give a trolling a go.

Since I had their stupid invitation code as in "/join ....." I just continually spammed join and instantly leave the fire team. Eventually they dropped the party and I wasn't able to join anymore. Whether they all just rage quit at the trolling I was doing or some other way around it that I haven't known about. I'm sure that assigning a "new fireteam leader" doesn't change the lobby code. So, after that glorious event, I decided to just stop playing this game. I mean honestly, when is toxicity in this game gonna stop?

1. Gambit/Gambit Prime "teamwork forced" absolute trash experience with people doing absolutely nothing and losing against similar aggressive opponents like me with similar skills while my team runs like chickens as though they just "started up Destiny 2 for the first time."

2. Crucible is a bit easier because here I can actually shine with my aim and outplay skill; however, not against premade clan squads who are sitting in discord always positioning them selves to wipe multiple players. Unless I have my super, I'm always losing fights. Extremely unfun experience.

3. Public Events are just normal things in the game is super exciting and relaxing to do. Not only do I find the most awesome people to play around with, but actually sweet characters who'd I want to approach to communicate and game with via discord. However; the game communication is such a joke and every time I type in any chat I never get an answer; yet people are communicating with emotes. Is chat this broken in the game? What's the point?

4. Discord is a nightmare. I've met only a few nice people who were competitive and didn't like when people couldn't cooperate, understand, use their IQ for how ever low it was, listen and just put into action when it came to doing activities together. Just the most random trash players I've ever encountered. It wasn't like, Oh I'm sorry, I don't understand this or that. They would just bash us saying, It's just a game ya'll try hard "insert vulgar phrases with n and f words here" Absolutely dehumanizing.

When I first began playing Destiny 2 after saying it was trash, I was surprised how "good it was" and rewarding. But once I got to this "pinnacle area" where you need to start doing RAIDS to get top-gear with the most absurd team-work type of knowledge, I knew something felt off. It was felt completely different from the game. It's as though I had to relearn how to play League of Legends. Every single character and what they do and that completely made a "no-no" for me. I don't want to rely on "5 nutheads" yelling N and F words in discord calling people all types of nightmare dark garbage because they messed up. Every single day, every room, every single encounter has been of this nature. This nutjobs are sitting 10+hours a day on Destiny 2 having no life but frustration encountering people who they want to see just "like them." Not everyone spends 10 hours of yelling N and F words in discord to people who are just trying to learn and do a RAID.

Honestly, I think quitting was probably the best option for me. I don't want this game to impact me emotionally and psychologically. It's just a nightmare. I've already have to deal with stupid "overloaded and unstoppable enemies" who take barely any damage sometimes and spam everything in your face. Next thing I want to hear during gameplay frustration and improvement is that you're a "N word F word braindead etc... wishes of black hole encounters... bla bla bla" I don't care about those statements. But I get sensitive, not because of what they're seeing per-say- but during the "CLASH of everything happening at once."

I wish this community was outreaching and friendly rather than the same turd that's in League of Legends and Rocket League with other FPS games as well. Such a bastard atmosphere I tell you. Maybe I'm just unlucky with the people I ran into. I have no clue. If I had wonderful people who are wanting to play would I play again? Definitely. Where would I find them? Point me to them if they exist.

The most tilting thing is when you write in in-game chat and no one responds. S.O.S. on another level of loneliness. lol

There are LFG that teaches you about it and there are raids KWTD(know what to do). Looks like you joined the wrong one.

I knew what I was doing. I actually followed instructions multiple times flawless. These people actually died so many times and did even less damage than I did. I ran a NightHawk Hunter build so clearing "most mini-boss or boss encounters" was a piece of cake for me. They would just kick because I didn't have the "banner" or izanagi or whatever they "thought was mandatory." Also to the point of calling vulgar names or such a stupid level. Discord is supposed to be a friendly zone but also which part of "This is my first time doing this RAID" do people not understand? I don't go in a RAID not saying that. I knew the phases, I knew what to do, my responsibility, through all the phases; only to be right before the boss to not have "those high requirements equipped" as that will MATTER when I'm the only ONE that didn't have it; yet building a NightHAWK for high DMG output and having the gear to clear all the ADS and knowledge to do the raid. It's just frustrating.

P.S. I watch youtube for instruction and learn from that. It's quite easy just takes a bit of time. But all is pretty much straight forward information. It still doesn't take away the toxicity that the Destiny 2 discord players have.

I feel bad you had a negative experience. But that's online gaming in general. MMO's with the online element are people driven and no game system can replace a human being trashy to you.

Most of the game systems are enjoyable if you get a proper group or friends to play with. I've made many friends via the LFG discord who play with me now. I can't imagine pugging the game modes of Raids/Nightfalls/Gambit due to sheer communication issue.

Hopefully you find good people to play the game yourself, so you can begin enjoying it!

Public Discord was always been toxic,
You need to find a clan or a chill discord community with same mindset as yours.

Couldn't have said it better. It's just unfortunate that the majority of players are in this state. It's just infuriating.

In about 100 hours I've met one any toxic D2 player, and I'm in a discord clan with decent people, civil and patient. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. Hope things will improve for you soon !

I'm getting the feeling OP wasn't learning and the leader kicked him to get someone who would so the rest would be able to experience the raid.

I hate posts like this, the paragraphs just show how emotional he is over the whole deal, someone who is so serious about raising isn't fun to run with.

Sounds like he joined a KWTD raid as someone who hasn't completed it before. Then he got kicked (major surprise right?) And now he's complaining??? on steam threads, which has absolutely nothing to do with the LFG discord server...

TBH op you sound salty asf, no offense. And as someone who only raids and teaches groups on the LFG server i haven't met a single group like that. Not saying they don't exist but if they do then just find another one and move on?

I don't know if he joined completion or learning group but its quite clear OP is a special case. He either joined a completion run and held everyone back or he was incapable of playing the game/learning for someone and clogged up a learning run which is quite hilarious after reading his salty novel. If op gave me the names of the fire team... actually, I might destiny track his last activity..
