The network coding of this game is horrible.
Just a rant, feel free to ignore it. But JFC this game's network code is horrible. No other multiplayer game I own has more issues connecting and more importantly keeping a player connected. It was bad when I was using the blizzard launcher, but it has even gotten worse since the move to steam. I've been forced to almost completely stop using the multiplayer content in Destiny 2 due to constant networking errors. No one wants or needs a teammate who errors out every 10 mins or so and then returns with 0 special or heavy ammo, making everything harder for everyone involved. Please fix your networking code Bungie, it isn't rocket science. And your offical forums are filled with people like me who have issues, who have followed all your guides and have opened all the ports you require (way more than any other game I play BTW) and still get booted at a regular interval from your game.

inb4 "it's a you problem" people

but fr. I feel this rant so much. I was just trying to do ratking with a friend but out of nowhere the game decides to kick me out of the crucible match and i just lose all interest to do it again.

hell, their servers were down for an entire day not too long ago. Safe to say they dont know much about managing one

Nope, it's not their fault. This is happening to everyone who isn't remotely lucky. I have extremely good Internet and I still experience these problems despite them not happening in any other game

I knew it would happen. They're always like this LMAO
The issue is still Bungie side. Can't do Strike with motivation if I'm gonna get kicked midway due to error yet playing Battlefield 1, Planetside 2 or FFXIV has no issue.

Doubtful.

"Just because it isn't happening to me, means that it must not be happening for everyone else."

Pass away and fade in mediocrity, please.

There needs to be at the very least like a real connection host system for Crucible.

It would cut down on bandwidth usage and probably make those who are stuck on wireless connections like a lot of rural Americans better able to play the game.

just use DLAN.. it's a normal technology called DLAN which is avaible for every one, even in america.. u just need power and power cables at home, which i think u have, and just buy 2 DLAN adapters for 7$ which is not that much ;)

yesterday, ingame i have those again... Bungie seems to have some hard issues with servers/NetCode/Multiplayers activities :

again, our old friend Weasel comes at my house
kicking without reason from the Iron Banner
connection NAT/ERROR with this game... all is clear on my pc (drivers, updates and more...) and nothing has changed ???

again... again... again... :steamsad:

it was more stable with Batllenet (errors was already here but not so often and so various) but now... on Steam... it's just a joke

Bungie, please take your time AND FIXE YOUR FU***** game !!!!!

disconnects in crucible mostly comes up because the player who is/was the host of the PvP session haves internet problems or just turned the game off... it's like u host a game and turn the server off..

destiny is peer2peer... so PvP is hosted by users and not by bungie.. yeah u can blame bungie for not having own servers, but u can't blame the user who turned the game off without knowing that he was the host of the session.. ;)

although the netcode for the P2P hosting is swiss cheese and im fairly sure by now given bungie have even acknowledged the problems its causing, hopefully they might be ditching the P2P model when they add crossplay (since im fairly sure P2P crossplay wouldent work)

as long the "system" is searchning for the "best host" for the next PvP session it should work on crossplay too.. i don't think that the "system" is choosing the host randomly

I think you misunderstand when I say wireless connection my dude, I do not mean having a wifi router.
