And I agree with Emurinus, the campaign is way too short, but it brings back my favourite character of the franchise, and the dark, foreboding atmosphere works very well IMO, so I don't hate it at all.
I believe the idea is that the story will also continue throughout seasons as well, as opposed to previous DLCs which were more or less their own individual things, so the story may get to a better length as the year goes on.
While I find the atmosphere less attractive than the theme of the original Destiny or Forsaken, what really makes my game unpleasant is the extreme darkness combined with the extreme brightness of weapons fire. It bothers my eyes.
In most games you can reduce or turn off particle effects (which would eliminate the extreme brightness) and that frees you to adjust the gamma. That way you can adjust the game for those of us that are a bit oversensitve to flashing and extreme lighting changes. But not so in Destiny, which makes the Shadowkeep design at the very least annoying to me.
I personally was disappointed seeing the Fanatic there as Oryx or Aethon seemed like a bigger cause of PTSD for our Guardians but it was because the Fanatic was one of 3 times the Light was not there for the Guardians.
Story felt a bit short compared to Forsaken, but as far as I recall, Forsaken was a good bit more expensive as well so that balances out for me.
Love the new weapons from the Moon, but I really can't stand the Warlock armor...
I really love the new Lost Sectors, they sorta feel like mini missions compared to the old "Rush in, kill boss, loot chest, leave". Reworks of older Lost Sectors to bring them up to par with Moon sectors, as well as a boost to the loot they give would be amazing.
It's one of few sources of Pinnacle gear, how is that "unrewarding"?
Not a matter of being a good or bad deal. I would dislike it even if it was free.
But I really like the base game and I love Forsaken.
