It Is Time To Bring Back Dominus Ghaul

After Destiny 2's campaign, the Red Legion storyline has been kicked to the wayside. They are still a thing, yes, but at best they star in a minor campaign mission or strike here and there. That's been their only level of involvement until the Season Of Dawn, but if things continue to go the way they are. The Red Legion storyline will end up right back where it was before the season even began. They'll be leaderless, disorganized, without a proper base, and just running around the solar system doing stuff

I think bringing back Ghaul would make not only the Red Legion storyline engaging again, but the entire Cabal storyline as well. Because after this season just throwing in another random Cabal that wants to be the new Dominus will feel, really, old

They could do multiple paths with it

Redemption: Perhaps in the years since the Red War, the Traveler has been reshaping Ghaul and purifying him to send him back and unite the Earth and Cabal empire in an alliance. After-all it would only be fitting if he was made into the new Speaker since his actions led to the original passing.

Virus Route: Yes, I am ripping off the Matrix Trilogy. They could make it that Ghaul's consciousness was fragmented, and over the past years, he has been slowly reforming himself. That would be interesting, PLUS a way for Bungie to circumvent the loot dilemma. One of the problems with Destiny is that there are no reoccurring villains, this is because Bungie kills them off so we can get loot drops for them in their boss fights

Turning Ghaul into a quasi Agent Smith/Sauron would allow for more potential story-line ideas and give us a villain that we can't beat simply by killing normally

But in my opinion, I believe the Redemption arc has the greatest potential of all

Better if they create some kind of "sundial" in the Tangled Shore and bring back Cayde. I miss that chicken lover.

For me I think I'm a bit tired of Calus most of his stories are kinda becoming samey

Which is to be expected because all he wants us to do is come to his ship and fight stuff because he doesn't have TV

Theres so much more that could be explored. We still dont know much about the vex. There are 2 other major hive figures, Xivu Arath and Savathûn etc.

The vex are kind of boring though, sadly. They are just a bunch of macgruffins that can create reality creating machines

But they somehow don't have the intelligence to just use their technology to wipe out every other race in the system. They've got no real personality, no characters, they are just the borg with all of their personality drained

Also I don't like hobgoblins

Calus encountered the darkness while drifting through space. It showed him the destruction of the universe and he wants us to be the last beings alive with him when the apocalypse comes. He also has beef with Mara Sov, which could be interesting. It's a decent storyline and I'm looking forward to see how it pans out.

They also hinted pretty heavily at Oryx being resurrected. Death is only a minor inconvenience to the hive... Xivu Arath and Savathun have both died true deaths in the past and been resurrected by Oryx, so there's no reason why they couldn't bring him back.

Saint-14 arrival and the corridor of time bs made me laugh actually.

As for Ghaul... why ghaul? He had as much potential as steppenwolf lol. The guy was a talking pan. He wasn't deep enough to make him interesting (no back story, no personnal issue, a single encounter in the whole game ??? what do I care for this hpbag !).

Tell you what would at least raise an eyebrow of mine : the return of a corrupted Cade-6, struggling with his new duality, half-himself half-*pick_existing_enemy_race*.
Might sound cheap, sure, but it would get my curiosity. If you want to bring something back, make sure to choose the worth one.

Edit : as the new evil, cade-6 would have access to all guardians realm knowledge, would be the worst nightmare of destiny franchise tbh.
Also the traveler could be corrupted as well, and give birth to something like zombie guardians or change living ones into dark slaves.
