Abandoning Quests

If I abandon an exotic weapon quest with a bit of progression already on it, will abandoning it make me start all the way over from the beginning or will it keep the progression if I pick it back up later?

I have a feeling it just resets it if I cancel the quest and get it back because bungie, but I thought I would ask to make sure.

It will keep your progression. I don't see why you would want to abandon a quest though, just keep it in your inventory.

Quests/Bounties limit is like 60 something. I hit that sometimes and also I have quests I'm not gonna do right now but have progression and I would like to clean up the quest page a little.

I wish you could move the quests around so you could put ones you wanna keep an eye on on the first page.

Bounties don't keep progression, but actual quests do.
