Why can't we mod masterwork weapons? WTH?
Why can't we mod masterwork weapons? WTH?

Come on Bungie either you need to update this or the game is bugged. I'm trying to do nightfall hero mode. There is absolutely no option to put mods on them. You have made masterwork useless in this game.

Master worked weapons? You mean CURATED ROLLS that Bungie created as static rolls? Yeah those can't be changed, but if you can get the same weapon to drop then you can mod it how you want and masterwork it. Sometimes an old year 1 weapon will drop as a curated roll, and no you can't mod them. I'm betting you ate paint chips as a kid.

"Thats the good paint"
There's always something wrong with the game, but it's always people just doing know wtf they are doing.

Cant change curated rolls, but if the curated roll does suck (most are solid-godly, so keep that in mind), then just dismantle it and keep farming the normal

As for ritual weapons, you do not get to mod them at all, however a majority of them have some gimmick or at least a reason for that.
Python: rewarding for getting close, big ammo reserves
Buzzard: Osmosis
Komodo: eye of the storm/no distractions allowing for it to be much more pvp viable than most, as you can ignore flinching that would otherwise wreck your aim (or at least, I think thats what bungee was going for, just use crooked fang lol)

Oh really jack ass? Someone is supposed to know that you can't mod a weapon once it becomes masterworked? Thanks captain hindsight. Appreciate your wisdom.

You're dumb too. You can mod a weapon after YOU master work it, but you can't masterwork curated rolls(duh). I wouldn't call it wisdom. I would call it common sense.

What specific weapon are you talking about? It might be a Y1 Nightfall weapon, which can't accept mods, like all Y1 weapons. You can see if it is a Y1 weapon, if it has either no icon in the corner of the weapon spite, or an Eye of Osiris, or the Warmind symbol (the square with wings).
Another way to check if it is a Y1 weapon is to look if you can reroll the Masterwork, or if you can change the kill tracker like a normal perk.

Its any of the dumb masterwork weapons we found in drops such as Duty bound, Kelvin, etc.
I realized that some of the purple weapons are not moddable which is entirely pointless and useless. Bungie either update all the weapons to have 1 mod slot or just delete them from the game as they are quite useless now.

Kelvin for example is a Y1 weapon. And as I said, the Y1 weapons can have Mods applied to them. Most of them are also really bad compared to new weapons, like Spare Ratiosn, Blast Furnace, etc.

Save your breath. Some folks won't grasp it.

Why dont you listen to n0regard4life bnecause he's correct?

The only master worked items that cant be modded are DROPPED master worked items. Not made master worked through using cores. And many of those curated rolls are actually really good...

YHou dfont 'need' to mod everything... -.-

Modding in this context refers to applying weapon Mods, not changing perks.

weapons 2.0... just great.
TheVoidSpirit Jan 5, 2020 @ 4:04am
To summarize for OP:
You probably got a weapon from Y1 (Year 1), which has no random rolls, and can't accept mods. The fact that it is a Masterwork has nothing to do with it.
And modding a weapon does not refer to changing perks, barrels, mags, etc on a weapon, it reffers just to applying a mod, like Boss Spec, Taken Spec, or Icarus Grip to it.

You can't play nightfall higher difficulty without them. Weapons are completely pointless that rate its going.
