I made a new account and am unbroken again (legit). So its fine. Point still is... exotic weapons need shader love too.
by the way, i really enjoyed your project x mod
And thank you. I really tried to make Project X the best mod it could be.
(I have Project X4 now if you're interested)(Its for X4: Foundations)
it would be nice to have that but they would probably have to retexture every exotic gun in the game for that since a lot of kinetc guns dont work perfectly with shaders and some just look stupid, arbalest per se, only the pipes change color.
A bit off topic but blast furnace becomes pitch black when you apply crucible carmine shader to it, looks like staring into a void.
So its like any other shader allowed item, gotta choose what looks good on the item.
Or hows this... New Age Black Armory on Graviton Lance? I mean some exotic weapons just have crap shaders by default, but we as players should be allowed to change that.
It will take a while to retexture every exotic gun in the game, but even then its unlikely since a lot of ornaments only change the color, not even the texture of certian guns (lumina per se) and would become obselete and no one would buy them. I usually make the characters appearance to match the exotic weapon i use to compensate for it.
Payback? You just punished others who didn't have anything to do with you or the cheaters who wronged you. You just made the problem bigger by becoming one of them.
Some weapon ornaments also change the weapons primary, secondary, trim color order as well thus altering how the same shader looks because of said ornament being applied.
Idk, cause shaders are just material swaps, and from my experience with Project X you can alter the physical properties a weapon via a mod (which is what the ornament does) while still being able to apply a material swap (a skin) with no issues whasoever.
Example: Take the 10mm Pistol form FO4. You can apply a weapon skin to it in its basic form, then go to a mod station and add a silencer, all that stuff, and the skin simply applies to the newly added pieces as well. This same concept should work in D2 on weapons. You can alter the weapon all you want via ornaments, it has nothing to do with the shader in the end.
There's tons of weapons that i use that don't match my armour set and it's so annoying. I can do it with my legendaries, i can do it with my exotic armour with ornaments applied but for some reason i can't make my riskrunner, sunshot or thunderlord match my armour? It's not right. I have last year's solstice of heroes warlock set in white and gold with the purple glow and i would love to make my graviton lance white to match it. It would look nice with the purple energy that flows around it. But i can't do that so i have to stick with the default skin.
This has been the elephant in the room for way too long. It's been a requested feature since launch but of all the things they have changed, we've never gotten the ability to reshade exotic weapons and they never seem to talk about it. I reckon they would actually make more money from ornaments if they had the shader system in place. There's many ornaments that physically change the look of the weapon and i think they look great but the colour doesn't match what i use. If i could actually change the colour then i would be more inclined to buy them and i think many people feel the same. I'm not willing to buy ornaments that only change the primary colour because i look at my exotic armour pieces that i can recolour even with ornaments applied and i feel like I'm being scammed by purchasing a recolour when the system to reshade should be in place for exotic weapons and should have been there years ago.
We can reshade our legendaries, we can reshade our exotic armour, we can reshade our ghost, our ship and even our sparrows. But we can't reshade the exotic weapons that we almost always have equipped and use in every activity in the game? It's about time we could.
