Game has frequent FPS drops during crucible
Since about a month ago, my game has frame rate dips frequently, and I have no clue why. I'm normally able to get 60 FPS during any game mode at max settings, but it randomly drops from 60fps to about 15-20. At first I thought it was because of my hardware, so I lowered the settings, but I still had consistent frame rate drops. I recently did an experiment where I played a game and with a stopwatch, and hit the lap button every time there was a drop in frame rate. It happened after 50 seconds for about 10-15 seconds every single time, even if nothing was going on in the game. I have no idea what could be causing this, so some help would be extremely appreciated.

Computer Hardware:
AMD FX 6300 Six Core Processor
24 GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050

It’s your CPU. The FX 6300 will have trouble rendering. I had a Ryzen 3 1200 and had the same issue. I would upgrade to at LEAST a 5 2600 or a 7 2700x as they are on sale rn :)

1. Your CPU is older then the sand used to make its silicon

2. Tri channel memory configs were abandoned for a reason, they sucked

3. Your using a very low end gpu, even lwhen it was new

Yes low end third gen Intel cpu’s are just as bad, if not worse

High settings on a 1050? You need to lower everything as far as it will go to get stability on a gpu like that

cries in 30fps on any Titan map, be it open world, gambit, or crucible with an i7-4770k and a GTX1070. other planets "only" dip to 45, but still.

No 1050, RX 5700.
Don't like GforSe.
Bad drivers, new drivers stucking games, overpriced, I previously wanted 1080ti, but they stopped releasing.

That CPU is poo.

i think Destiny 2 is that kind of game that scales much more with CPU and not GPU.. When there is alot of stuff happening on your screen your CPU starts to choke and hit very high CPU usage values and high CPU usage values always chokes a PC. IPC gains solves this better than higher GHZ.

That makes sense

I use a ryzen 3700x and I let precision boost do its thing. The only tweak I have made is to set the infinity fabric processing speed to match my RAM.

My avg is between 90 and 110 and the lowest I have ever seen is in the 70’s during long loading times

Exactly what I've noticed with my 2070 super and 9700k. My CPU hits in the 80s while GPU may top out in the mid 50s usage wise. This game has a ton of enemies and stuff going on so it's pretty CPU intensive.
